Hey,
The best way to combat a full court press is a slow tactic, right? Examples being Low Post, Princeton, Patient, etc.?
Thanks. Dr. Shaq

There are those who say a fast tactic is better (on the theory that if you break the press, you'll be facing a pretty poor defense as it is so shots that might not normally be good will be good) and those who say that a slow tactic is better (since once you break the press, you should be able to maneuver for a much better shot than average).

I think the main thing is that a tactic that you're effective in is the way to go, and just ensure that you have good handling and passing so as to minimize turnovers.

Play the best offense for your team, that part won't matter much.

But play 3-2 on defense, that's where you're going to combat it.

Also, if you have a lot of players with strong handles, FCP doesn't work very well against that.

If you have strong guards i wouldnt worry, id be extremely happy. IF they have decent handlings and youll be runing inside tactic. They will be taking alot of mid range jumpers without competition. Iv tried to run fcp few times, and even if my defences are really good for the division i am in, i get outscored by 6k salary guards shooting over 50% On the other hand you still get like 30 steals a game, so this compensates the lack of reboundin in the team. Its maybe better to let guys shot 55% than shoot 45 and repeat their shots more often.

What does playing 3-2 defense benefit me going against an FCP?

Ya, sorry., brain cramp on my part. I was thinking he was playing run and gun.

Play and inside based offense like Look inside/Inside iso and if you're guards have really strong handles, you should be in good shape.
