I am investing 10k right now for 2 points/week, and I plan to keep it that way, but I just wanted to know what's the best way to spend it.

1) Do the grey balls mean anything at all? I've heard that people got great prospects that were lower, but will 5 balls have greater chance of becoming a better player overall?

2) Should I wait for 10 points and do a scout combine? It doesn't seem bad, but I will need to still spend 2 points individually for a full report right?

3) Is it possible for someone to have 3 balls Rating with 4 balls Potential?

4) Any other general advice on how to spend my points efficiently?

1. The grey balls mean nothing they are randomized.

2.3points acutually. 1 for box score nd 2 for potential.

3.Yes

4.Go for 18 year olds if you do the combine unless there is a 5/5 guy. They train faster and are worth more

Your league has a lot of (apparently) inactive teams, so I would advise you to invest more in the draft, unless you're having cash troubles. On the other questions A1R has already given good answers, although the abilities and potential are not totally uncorrelated.

I was thinking 2 points is enough, since for 3 per week it doubles the price and therefore I'll lose more money and it will be less worth it. Dunno tho.

That's a very simplistic way of putting it... Over a season you save 140k, but if it's the difference between getting a top prospect or not, that top prospect is usually worth more than 140k. You have a better shot at good draftees now than in higher leagues because you are in a league with lots of inactive teams. You may even get good players in the 2nd round...

Are you sure? I thought the grey balls were totally random so that they would be different for all teams.

But look at bot teams picks. First round is always slighty better than 3rd one, so there is a colleration between grey balls and prospect level.

Actually no, I've seen horrible picks in the first round too. For example, look at this draft on a league full of bots

There are awful and decent picks both in the first and third rounds. I'm sure that if you add up the salaries of players taken in round one, round two and round three the totals will be pretty similar.
