I've taken a massive blow to my team's stability, two of my better players were hit with 2 week injuries in my last 4 games. so I have to wonder, how does one cope with more than one big injury at once? this happened to me last season right around the same time, and I'm afraid this might become a recurring theme.

My injuries are really taking a toll on my team as a whole, so any help in avoiding future problems like this (aside from getting a new doctor, which I plan to do this weekend) would be appreciated, as well as help coping with injuries in general. My injuries are to a PG with the best passing and OD on the team (I have a backup for him, who's almost as good, but I need both to keep the other at max stamina the whole game.) and to a PF/C who I alternate between those positions depending on my needs in training minutes and Inside Defense. his backups (depending on which position he plays that particular day) are both capable inside scorers, but neither has the rebounding or inside defense value to match up.

The best you can do is:

1. Keep your players at the best game shape they can be.
2. Get a doctor. (I have level 3 w/taping specialty to lower severity and usually just get one 2+ week injury a year)
3. Hope.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

I didn't realize game shape could help, thanks.

Out of curiosity, has anyone else seemed to get hit hard with injuries right around this time of the season? I've had 5 injuries since the start of last season, to 5 different players, and all of them came within two weeks one way or the other of the start of non-conference play. 3 of those were on thursday games (two of them in the same scrimmage, last season, the scrimmage before game 10).

Get a level 5 doctor. He reduces injuries to about 1-2 a year at most.

Seriously now, I've used a level 1 doctor for the past 3-4 seasons I seldom get injuries.

A lot of injuries seem to happen right before playoffs. Or maybe just a lot of angry people posting about their injuries right before playoffs!

Depending on the age of your players you might wish to get the best lvl doctor you can buy, to help minimize injuries.
I got struck VERY hard last season......made out to the finals but could not really pose a threat to the eventual champion due to 6 out of 7 of my top salaried players were not available due to injury!
6 guys injured, I did not do myself any favors with the very low rated doctor on staff (useless). And to the gent who recommended you to get a low lvl doctor because he has not suffered many injuries for a good period of time........that was me, and now being on the other side of things now..........don't be skimpy with your doctor, because the random rash of injuries will come, and Dougie Howser won't know what to do.

I think it mostly depends on at what level of the game your at. In D.V and D.IV leagues, i dont see the investment into a high level doctor being worth it. The majority of newer teams should be developing 18-21 year olds, and should be watching their minutes really close already. I only experienced one injury amongst my 3-4 trainees at C/PF in those few years. Meanwhile, i didn't care as much for the veterans i was plugging into PG/SG/SF, and consequently lost a few games while i was training my 18-19 year olds. Now that i've gotten to D.IV and am plugging along in the creation of a bigger arena, i've invested in a better doctor to ensure that these now 20-21 year olds who are responsible for keeping me in D.IV stay healthier. I just got hit with another 2 week injury to my backup PF, but other than that i've had a pretty run with health (just one other injury to my starting SG earlier in the year when i wasn't managing as closely as i am now).

At D.IV, it's just as easy to find a veteran 11th or 12th man for 4-5k salary and less than 10k cash, so the math suggests after severance fees that it's just cheaper to go that way. This would be even more true to D.V

No, with my old team my injuries occurred in the playoffs. Three times I lost a championship due to an injury. Two of those was because of an injury sustained in the game before the championship.
