It's a zone, when your players are guarding a specific space instead of a specific opponent then of course these types of match-ups are going to take place during the course of a game.

Maybe I'm confused on what your complaint is here?

In my experience it has always been like this.

In reall life, in a zone defense, all players can and will cover jumpshooters even out to the 3 point line.

In this instance, the bottom 2 players will often cover jump shooters and 3 point shooters along the baseline and into the corners. At least if it's an effective zone.

A 3-2 zone in no way is designed for the 3 top players to solely cover the perimeter and the 2 bottom players to solely cover the inside players. These may end up being their primary responsibilities because of the zone's design but it isn't their sole responsibility. I think if you watch any high level basketball game on TV and this will become apparent fairly quickly.

Every time I see this I just pray the shooter is shooting against my "zone", not the OD of my C, although many would disagree. It's a matter of interpreting the match engine. Do you feel better thinking this way?

So what you're saying is that this game has flaws and that the way some tactics are setup are rudimentary, uncareful and unrealistic?

Not surprised coming from this type of game. Of course also like in any other type of game of this style, there will also people coming out defending it, almost like this was RL basketball and finding excuses for every single situation. I'm pretty experienced about it to be honest.

Isn't shooting over a C, because of the higher shotblocking skill of those players, always a worse option for an attacking team?

Why would you not like you C to contend shots?

Just in case you were referring to me (which you may not have been). I do recognize that there are tons of unrealistic flaws with the game engine and it far from mirrors real life. I just didn't think this is one of those examples.
