At this point now I would simply tank the season...save your money and get a couple of guys during the deadline..which simply means they cannot participate in any playoffs. Gradually add more seats to you're arena which will generate money. Get 2-3 10k-20k per week players and build around them. Start off season 22 with some wins. If you want to build a big man team, to play look inside get you a good PF and Center as well as a good point guard. Your shooting guard and small forwards should be capable of having good OD and handling skills and maybe strong shooting skills..more well balanced then go run n gun and get good starting 5 that are all capable of shooting and rebounding and defense. I usually run n gun b/c of the way I am built. I have a few stars in my guard my SF and my PF as my young guns and a couple of bigs that are 31 yrs old but still improving.

Maybe not so much as Tanking the rest of the season but Expierting on you're players - get rid of ones you dont think is worth having..build up some cash. You got a couple of descent guys you just bought. NOW just get you a couple of younger allstar potential at least players and then you can be more competitive in next season (A few weeks away), ALSO...Read up on the buzzerbeater guide. And also ask questions on the help forums...there are quite a few guys that will steer you right. I have a few favs that have given me valuble advice. BUT beware! Some can be full of shit and lead you wrong to the point you end up scrapping players and starting new. It happened to me last season when a team told me to sale all my guys over 30. Its a fun game...kinda addicting, but better and healthier than street drugs and alchohol. Have some fun with it man!

Naptown is the man to listen to. My only tip is don't get carried away with buying too many expensive free agent guys. balancing your books will be one of your key challenges early on, that is until you have built up membership/attendance at home games and expanded your stadium. 2 more bits (i) save your scouting dollars until later and (ii) don't get carried away with hiring quality staff until later.

Naptown what are your thoughts on scouting and staff?

Yeah I agree. I dont spend that much on scoutsexcept for only a couple times. AND Mugs is right. It was torward the end of the season. I sometimes spend an hr on this forum looking over other manager's Q&A's. I have learned a ton and still learn new stuff weekly it seems. I do know one..Build you're main core of like 3guys and build accordingly around them. Don't fall in love with players. I've done it before and it sucked when I sold them ONLY to get a bigger badder-ass player.
Right now I hope to be set to advance, if not, I am buying a 35k weekly big man and finally sell off 2 or 3 guys to get him.
8 players is a good number and get a couple of scrubs so you can balance out game shape.
