i prefer the 3:2 Zone, because you loose to much rebounding with the 1-3-1 Zone.

I think it depends on whether they're good at outside shooting or not. If they are, then 3:2 zone is probably necessary to close down their shooters (or maybe even FCP to break up their play), but if their shooting percentage is not so great, why not let them shoot from outside and go 2:3 zone to boost your rebounding. If you're good on inside defence, why let the other team drag you out to play on the perimiter if you can rely on them missing lots of shots anyway? As long as you claim the rebounds then that's good too.

normally you should be strong enough to get the defense rebounds, and if you could increase the number of missing shots you could even afford some more offensive boards because more opponents attacks would end without a basket.

If you are afraid of rebounding i would think man to man was much better then letting the opponent shot, from outside with lot of space.

But many teams are just not very good at outside shooting. So why expend your precious players' attention on distracting someone who can't shoot from distance anyway? I agree that it's an unlikely tactic but it is one that has worked for me in the past...

Becuase if you let him shoot, he will hit the open shoots ;)
