Just a quick thought that came up when reading transfer list threads:

How about having players adjust their salary when changing teams?

So when putting a player on the transfer list, there´s not only the current salary, there´s also a "new salary after team change" displayed, which has to be paid by the acquiring team after the purchase.

Why? Forgive me, but this makes no sense. I don't see a good reason for doing it.

Well, it could target the situation of teams making late acquisitions just to bolster up their Playoff Squad.

In addition, since BB is not using the NBA trading system but a "transfer fee" system (where you basically pay the original owner for erasing the contract), it´s only realistic, that players demand a new contract when signing with the new team.

In a system like that, you could add a discount when beeing with the team for 1, 3, 5 seasons (like 5, 10, 20%) to make "homegrown" players more valuable for their teams.

I think instead of messing with the players salaries it would be much better and more efficient to just push back the transfer list date for playoffs like people have mentioned before. Also nothing in this game is realistic like in the NBA and i like the transfer fee system better then changing the salaries when you sign new players.

Well, this proposal is not messing with anything nor a proposal "instead of doing this or that...". The players salary would still be strictly linked to their skill (maybe to skill and duration of the stint with the current team, but still a very obvious connection), and this proposal is not excluding any other change, so I don´t exactly see any reason against this kind of a change so far.

On a positive note, doing that kind of a change enables you to "view" a buzzerbeater-inside estimation of the salary (for better planning).

- Not the right solution. Pushing the deadline back a couple of weeks is, imo. Why this is not done already is a mystery to me!

- Perhaps this is good idea, but then the new salary should NOT be displayed unless you do actually bid on the player. Otherwise the transfermarket will be populated with a ton of players with a asking bid of 10.000.000 just so the managers can "calculate" next seasons salary.
An extreme way of stopping daytrading or late aqcuisitions could be to force the team to pay atleast three weeks salary to a player. If player is sold/fired before three weeks, the extra "salary" is paid in severance fees.

Another thing that could be implemented to limit daytrading is that the player demands a slightly higher salary with every transaction. Lets say a player can get traded 3 times in his career before he starts demanding higher salary due to a more uncertain future. Perhaps just a small increase, and not visible for managers. The more times he changes team, the higher are his demands.
