Ok, I won my first game in D.IV on TIE by 18. My opponent for that game was the lowest ranking team in my league, so that win doesn't give me much to go on. So...

(22980) is my next opponent. He seems to have all of his strength inside. I was planning on continuing to run LI and switch from M2M to a 2-3 zone to bolster my inside defense and rebounding. Now, I expect to have 6 enth for that game. According to the BB-USA matchup scouter and using his tactics from his game yesterday, LI/M2M will give me a 7 pt win, LI/2-3 will give a 5 pt win. Which tactic would you run? And, would you TIE again, or would you play normal?

Right now, I think the 2-3 zone would give me the best chance of winning but I'm also not that concerned about this game. I would be OK with losing, especially since my next game is a road game (no need to worry about my fan survey). I think TIE would be the best option as well. I have a chance of winning this game, and I should be able to win my cup game on TIE as well. That should give me 8-9 enth when I have to play (30503) on the road before my next home game. That game is more important to me as I need to keep my attendance high IMO.

Just looking for opinions. Thanks in advance.

2/3 zone doesn't work very well on the higher levels. If you SB is fairly high (relative to their other inside skills) on you forwards/centers then it will probably work for you. If SB is low on all your players then you're better off playing m2m.

I'm agreeing with Beemer. 2-3 zone seems to be nice inside defense tactic but it hasn't got that much advantage. It writes in manual that if your opponent has better cutting skills than you they can easily find the open man and easily score. It also has a disadvantage when you're defensing mid-range shots. So, I would use m2m. The most important thing about ent. is you should always give TIE when you know you're going to lose. (I learned this from GM-Manon) Ent. is very important because when you have 8-9 ent that means if you play normal it effects like a crunch time. So always try to accumulate ent. That's all.

I also found that 2-3 zone gets my SF in foul trouble

I have fairly good SB spread across my frontcourt players, but I think M2M may be the better tactic for this game looking at potential matchups. Thanks.

I always TIE when I'm outclassed. The point for this game is that according to the offsite matchup predictor, I should win but we are both close in CR (I know that really doesn't matter, just pointing out how "close" we are). I'm weighing winning this one game while sacrificing enthusiasm for my road game against a stronger opponent, vs winning this one and effectively having no shot in the next game.

This is my first season in this league and I've rebuilt my team essentially, so I don't have good data on my team's performance nor my opponents.

Interesting. That helps as I'm training guards OOP at SF this season. Thanks for the heads up.

If you think you can win this match just do it because there is no guarantee on the other match. Can I ask for the link of that site ? The one called offsite predict matchup.
