Hello everyone! Sorry I've been out of commission for a while. But I am here with first power rankings of Season 22! For the new teams, feel free to look at past power ranking threads to see how this gets figured. And always keep in mind, that this formula is not perfect, as it does not take into account tanking games or enthusiasm difference (See Extra Crispy). Although, I am going to see if I can find time to work in an addition to include effort differences... I'll keep you updated on that.

The first couple of these will change greatly, and then the rankings will round into a pretty consistent format as the season goes on. But, for now, here's the best I got!

POWER RANKINGS
1. Toronto Traptors, 22.368. Last season's runner-up looking very strong early.
2. Eclypze, 11.318. Is this finally the year he spends the cash and dominates?
3. East Gary Eagles, 7.502. Finally a good start for a very experienced team.
4. The Veggies, 6.752. The Great 8 looks very strange early on, and the Veggies are taking advantage.
5. Natellio, 6.452. What? How am I this high? I only have 2 good players.
6. CA Foreigners, 4.235. Another new team taking advantage of slow starts by previously strong teams.
7. The Door Mats, 2.977. Expected to move up.
8. Chicken Hawks, 2.402. He'll be fine.
9. Lake Charles Creoles, 0.902. After a great finish, a decent start with a tough opening schedule.
10. Thunderhorse, 0.335. The lone new team in the Big 8 starts reasonably well. We'll see if they can stick.
11. lakey, -0.373. Another new team. Too early to tell.
12. Cow Lickers, -3.423. Here's our D2 demotee. Not an overly impressive start, so we'll see what assets he has...
13. Bushrods, -6.715. Bad start for a team with high hopes for this season. He should move up.
14. Demon Hoosiers, -10.582. Tanking I would guess and building funds. I don't like when teams like this are this low...
15. Cathar Heretics, -12.682. This just in: Gilbert is good. Bummer about the cup though...
16. Extra Crispy, -31.532. What in the world are you doing here?

8. Chicken Hawks, 2.402. He'll be fine.

At this point, I wouldn't say I am completely tanking. I'm definitely in a rebuild, and I haven't decided exactly what I want to do yet. I'm disappointed in the transfer compare on my top trainees, so I don't think a selloff is necessarily the way to go. That said, I surely won't be challenging for promotion this season. I probably would have one win right now, but half my salary on the floor was injured 10 minutes into a game.

Next up, the rival! What surprises will he produce? Switching to LI?
My players know I'll give them tinnitus not to become Flip Saunders of DIII.6

Hello! 2 more games in, so we're slowly getting a picture of who the leaders of the league are.The Traptors look like the team to beat early, and I'm betting Eclypze isn't done with shaping his roster just yet. Great start for East Gary Eagles, though! We'll see how they do as the season goes on, but with Cathar in rebuild mode, that side of the league could be up for grabs.

It seems to me that there is a particularly low volume on the TL right now. It's both a bad market for buying and selling, which seems a little rare. I'm guessing things will open up a bit once teams start dropping out of the tournament. I have an old NBBA rival as my next opponent, and it looks like he is in a similar roster quagmire.

6 games in! The only defeated team left is East Gary Eagles, in a wonderful turnaround from last season. Lots of teams tanked this week, presumably for cup games. Still aren't seeing the complete picture of this league yet with lots of rebuilds and money saving going on.

One last heads up: I'm working on implementing an update in my formula to include effort differences. This way, if you get Ct'd an lose, it's not as big of a deal as an even effort loss. And if you normal a TIE and lose, you're worse off. This should reward those saving enthusiasm, and give a good picture on where teams stand towards the end of the season, when enthusiasm really matters. Hope to have that next Wednesday.

I will say, that a 2-4 record will not help :) Your biggest issue though is that you have the 3rd to last average ratings. See below.

We just got trounced by Eclypse. It certainly doesn't put us above the rest.
I really hope Extra Crispy are just in a quick rebuild. They've brought crispiness to the league.
