Well here we are again. Seems like some of us are forever stuck in division 5. After this past weekend and the upcoming few days Naptown will be a disaster. Looks like the Big 8 is up for grabs with Olmers and now MAUI who I chose as the dark horse from the Big 8 at the beginning of this new season. It looks as both teams have added the right players to make an interesting showdown while Muggles remains to be the king of the Great 8 until somebody can knock them down. Triples and Court Murderers are looking like a beast and may bring the 3 year Great 8 champion a hard fight. Good Luck! As mentioned from Naptown's GM Forever Ballin Mark this past weekend "Our resources and patients have ran dry on keeping the once dominating Naptown Pacers afloat" The team announces a fire sale has already taken place and will be with mediocre to avarage players for the remaining of the season. As mentioned above, this should make for a Nice playoff game for Olmers and Maui and there could be another dark horse by mid season.

Sorry to hear that. Patience is sometimes the key in this game. I think I started the game around the time you did (Season 17), and I was stuck in D-5 until Season 22. I made it out eventually by training two guards I got on the original roster until they were absolute shooting machines. If you really are going to go into rebuilding mode, then I wish you the best of luck. Don't quit though. Your forum posts are enjoyable to read.

NOOOOOOO way am I quitting. I enjoy this "ME TIME" a couple hrs a week. Not to mention this can be addicting and I have an addicting personality, hahahahha. I just think i got a couple of older guys in the offseason and didnt feel like i did the team any good. I have 2 guys I am thinking on selling until one of them got injured tonight. But one of them should get me 400k. I'm just going to have to tuff it out.

A man..I just happened to check out you're team and you look to have a pretty darn good sqaud. You run that RNG and the zone but it looks like D4 has been kind to you. Some new teams usually get thrashed for a season until they learn to defend better in D4. Im training my 2 youngsters defense 1st and as well as shooting and 1on1's. I am on the lookout to get me another trainee BIG man if i get some cash after Thurs cup game. I'll keep an eye on you as the season goes. Give me tips if you want. I listen and learn.

Well, you've got a pretty solid team as well. My only advice would be to maybe expand that arena of yours to about maybe 8000 seats, especially if your arena is almost full every game. It helps a lot with income. Right now in D-4 with a 9000 seat arena, I'm making a crazy 100,000 weekly income. The D-4 league I'm in is a little kind, I admit. There's only 1 seriously good team (Cold Fish). I'll keep an eye out for your team too.

No problem. That's a pretty good goal. Yeah, the arena helps a lot in keeping a high salary team. What I like about my team is that I can actually afford having good backups. Those backups can be important sometimes.

Damn right back ups can be important. I try to have 3 back ups that can play multi position like PF/C, SF/PF, SG/SF and until i had my best shooter get injured this week I had a good back up PG who now has to start. While my trainee gets more mins for the next couple of weeks. OK, Whats you're take on trainees???? I HAVE NEVER really been involved in training young players until this past season..I have a 20 yo PG, a 19 yo SF and a 23 yo PF that I like to increase on Defense and shooting and some 1on1..But believe it or not man..I have 2 guys that are MVP potential, one is 26 and one is 27 who still pop...so while i'm training my trainee young guys, my mid 20's guys are benefitting as well. I may be going about it wrong as I had choices all over the forum boards that I gave up taking advice from some. AGAIN, THANK a ton for you're info. Im sure Olmers has benefitted from you're advise. So dont look at it as a conflict of interest. Olmers has always been a cool dude and I enjoy playing him.

No problem. Both your teams are really interesting. I think it's good that your MVP guys are still popping.
In my opinion, trainees are ridiculously important. If you look at my players at the PG and SG positions, they all started out as trainees. My 16k PG/SG, I've been training since Season 17. It took a long time (5 seasons!), but training him and some of the others was completely worth it. My SG Charles Boyle I drafted after Season 18. He's now a decent outside shooter for D-4. I recently got an 18-year old superstar, Hector Jennings. After a few seasons, I bet he'll be a monster. So, there you go. I really like training trainees, because I think it's so worth it in the end. I normally train Jump Shot and Outside Shooting, even though most people advise me not to train Outside Shooting. I think Outside Shooting should be trained sometimes at least, especially for the Run and Gun teams. Occasionally, I train handling, driving, passing to keep those skills up, but I mostly train for pure shooting offense. Maybe you don't want to be as extreme as I am, but hey, whatever works!
I actually haven't given that much advice to Ohmers. He takes his advice from another friend (the one who rage-quit because D-4 was too difficult for him).

Yeah, thats how I kinda plan but throwing in some "D" training as well. I have had a potent offense for a couple of seasons now. Its said that offense wins games but defense wins championships. I HAVE though..seen a ton of offensive powered teams who run n gun like us and still over come tough defenses. With the way I'm built around Miho and Adrian and Ruban I need to get me a couple of defensive studs. I went out and got Issac palamas and Jakobs so i have some D at the pg spot and the big spot. Miho is a great defensive player and Adrian is as well. But when they get hot from downtown its going to be tuff for the opposing team.

Yup, I'm one of those hyper offensive teams. Here are my top three guards. Notice that none of them have very good defense at all.

It's probably good to invest in at least some defense, though.
