What's the most effective way to reason with a foreign u21 coach that my guy is better than someone on his roster and in better game shape to boot

Are you referring to your 18 y.o., 3.5k salary Armenian guy, who is better than the 17th best player in the Armenian U21 team? Just train him, and when he's good enough to contribute you may have a case. Until then, the coach may want to encourage national users to train their kids, or have any other reason not to pick your guy. And he doesn't owe you any explanation, I would think. Besides, he loses enthusiasm if he adds/drops someone, so why do that for a guy that's not even going to play?

Yeah exactly what rcvaz said.
Armenia is a small country and they're known for having young guys on their team, but there is really no point of him being called up as an 18th guy, he wont be getting any playing time.
I can promise you if you give him training every week, he will get at least 2 seasons of playing on Armenia's U21 team.
