I was thinking more like the NBA. BB should have more end of season trophies other than just the MVP. So here are a few other suggestions on how they might be calculated.

Rookie of the Year- The league rookie with the highest season rating average.

Defensive Player of the Year- Player with the most defensive rebounds, steals, and blocks per game added together.

Most Improved Player- Player with the most pops over the whole season.

Coach of the Year- Coach of the team who had the most improved record or something.

ROTY - many rookies retires just after draft or are sold.
DPOTY - seems fine, but your calculation prefers centers, while best defensive player could be guards or small forwards as well
MIP - Each season 5 teams changes league (or 1/4 if your are in lowest/highest division), so only players from 11 teams can take part in this award
COTY - Until teams loses on purpose (tanking, 5th position advantage, avoidin paying salaries in PO) it makes no sense

ill chime in here

ROTY - yer a tough one, i think i calculated that there are only 3 rookies from last seasons draft playing this season. so not sure how this would work.

DPOTY - Probably needs a better calculation than this - put weightings on some of them and give a more even spread.

MIP - again a tough one, i wouldnt do pops - maybe rank players at the start of the year based on rating and see who improves the most as the year goes on or something like that. DMI maybe?

COTY - Could be a couple of factors such as - made the most money ratio'd with win/loss record or something different?

ROY and MIP look impossible to me since the players' turnover in BB in each league.
6th man would not be representative since starters play too much.
COY seems a nonsense since there is no "coach".

But DPOY is a very good idea in my opinion since I think that BB's MVP calculation (just like IRL leagues in fact) is too offense based. So it would be good to recognize great defensive players.
Maybe we could have Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP just like in the NFL?

For coach of the year........ How about coach who improves WR the most or has the most/ best quality wins (college RPI style)

I like this for the most part.

ROTY – It would be easy to select the player with the highest rating who's 1) on a team at the end of the season 2) 19 or under and 3) played in a league game. (They don't have to be drafted by your team.)

DPOTY – I like having an algorithm similar to MVP where defensive performances are "voted" on.

MIP – Player who was on a team's roster the whole season and has the highest difference between avg rating in 1st 7 games and last 7 games. That way it's consistent.

COTY – How about we give an award to the manager whose club beat all the other teams when it counted. And their reward can be that they get to step it up to the next level of play. We can call it "promotion" and they can get extra cash for it too. And we can give them a trophy for their trophy case that says they were better than all the other managers in that league that season. ;-)

re: "6th man" – This award has always seemed stupid to me. Most rosters have more than 5 regular starters if you're training at all, so it's really arbitrary. Thumbs down.
