I am a new team. What should I be looking to pay for players at my caliber? What levels are recommended for a new team?

Like Manon said, I wouldn't look at making transfers yet. If i were you I would invest in the draft some and build your arena (Because it is a pain to deal with later). You were also lucky enough to start out with a 7.4k 21 year old big man with decent potential so after the draft if you dont get a good draftee, I would look at buying a young SF or Center to train along with your PF (I would go with an SF).

(http://s3.zetaboards.com/BuzzerBeater_USA_NT/index/) there it is. YOu can get help from lots of experiences US Managers and you can also go to chat for some answers. Just sign up and bb-mail jfarb (28800) for your account to get approved.

Also pertaining to your situation I'd spend all of that cash on your arena since the season is almost over. You can get reimbursed the next 4 or so weeks with the income you get from your arena. Also cut your roster down to 9-10 players, preferably your best salaries/skilled players. That way you'd get the most bang for the buck and then next season after the draft look for 3 trainees, either guards or big men. Get 1 of them with star/allstar potential and the other 2 get them with perrenial allstar potential and higher.

Also make sure there skills EDIT: aren't (wow goes to show how no "n't" can have oops)have major holes (like an atrocious in one of the guard skills or an atrocious in one of the big men skills)

hope this helps

Also, where can I find some guidelines about how to configure the seating of my stadium? Like what ratios I should use or something like that. Thanks

Join the Buzzer Manager site. It will give you a perfect suggestion as to what to set your ticket prices to, but as to how you should build it, just try to increase 1500-2000 bleachers and 100 lower tier as a start. (That would be good use of your original 300k) Courtside seats and boxes don't matter as much when you first start in my opinion.

man goes to show how rereading a message means wayyyyy different in many hours........oops. I ain't trying to tell him to get guys with holes. I'm trying to tell him to get good guys that can build for the future. Like don't have a guy with atrocious in a skill. more skills=better

In the draft there are tons of PAS guys in the TL, so it doesn't necessarily mean that he'll have to pay a whole bunch of cash for that. To me if he can get 2 PAS guys for cheap and then a AS guy they can mold out to be eventual starters and 6th Man of the future, you get what I mean?

I'll dispute this a bit Manon even if tough has altered his statement (though grammatically incorrect still).

I find star level players and below to be a waste of time when looking at them from a training perspective. If someone else has a 27 year old that is most of the way or all of the way to their cap, then it's a different story. But a player with mistakes made at an 8 potential can still become a long term project for a learning player.

In this case, finding a cheap enough trainee with 8 potential that is still good usually means sacrificing a stat. Spending less on two players with the same hole can sometimes help a new owner learn how to train while making a more well rounded player. By age 20 they'll be behind a bit but still capable of higher gains by the end of development than a star rated player.

The worst advice i've seen is telling a new guy to spend his only 12-14 draft points all on this years draft in hopes that he might land something. Just save the points for when you can actually scout most of a draft class.
