Hi BB Folks,
I'm in an interesting situation. I play my rival in the season finale.
The game has no relevance to my playoff picture. I'll be 4th regardless, playing against the best team in our league (who is most likely going to crush me).
I know that my 'performance vs rival' will weigh in on my fan survey, but since it's the last game of the season, will that even really matter? I won't play a home game again until Season 23, and by that time my last game against my Season 22 rival won't be relevant anymore. I suppose I'll get a little boost in Merch in the closing weeks of the season if I beat my rival.

Am I missing anything here? It'd be fun to CT my rival in the season finale and give it my team's all, but at the same time I'd rather have all possible enthusiasm for the playoffs and hope to make a good showing.

Save your enthusiasm. You won't have a home playoff game, and start of new season "rival game" will be n/a until the 1st rival game of that season.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

I think the decision lies here. There won't be any impact on your fan survey, and if you say you'll probably be crushed by the 1 spot saving ENT isn't very useful either. So what's left? Deciding the option which is more fun! If you rather jump at the possibility to crush your rival than having a tiny bit more chance in the playoffs, then have at it. If winning is everything, save enthousiasm and start praying ;)

The Rival and TV games really don't matter much once you're out of the regular season. If you have home playoffs and your ticket prices are exorbitant it may matter slightly, and there will be a non-zero but insignificant difference in the merchandise amounts you pull the next few weeks most likely, but otherwise there's no real reason to prioritize a rivalry game or a TV game that comes any time after your last home game.

Personally, I'd save the enthusiasm for the playoffs to give the best shot you have against the #1 - even if you can't win, it'd be uncool to the teams fighting in the 2-3 spot to essentially give the #1 such a huge advantage.
