This is one part of the game I have completely forgotten in my absence. Your Draft Rating indicates your likely salary range, correct?. Your Potential Rating indicates your likelihood for being trained range, as in MVP, HoF, etc., correct? So, your Grade Rating is a qualitative subset of your Potential Rating, is that right? If so, is it safe to say that a 5-Ball Potential rated player, who is listed as an A- Grade Rating is likely to give you a higher training range, than a 4-Ball Potential Rating player, with an A+ Grade Rating? Is the whole Draft thing just too random to project? Of the two arbitrary sample players, anyone care to weigh in as to which they'd prefer and why?

Grade rating is a more accurate indication of what you call draft rating. It is not related to potential. 5 ball potential will always give a higher training range then 4 ball.

Salary
5 balls = $4,000 and higher
4 balls = $3,000 - $4,000
3 balls = $2,300 - $3,000
2 balls = $1,900 - $2,300
1 ball = $1,900 and lower

Potential
5 balls = 10 - 12 (MVP - All-time Great)
4 balls = 8 - 9 (Perennial Allstar - Superstar)
3 balls = 5 - 7 (Starter - Allstar)
2 balls = 3 - 4 (Role Player - 6th Man)
1 ball = 1 - 2 (Announcer - Role Player)

last season update made salarys lower for draftees but generally u get idea how it works

Thanks! How do you view the separate Grade Rating? As a subset of Potential or Salary? In other words, likely to be a more trainable player, with a higher level of achievable training (Potential), or just likely to be a better prospect, demanding a higher salary (Salary)?

As was said earlier, the grade rating is simply a more detailed breakdown of the initial salary to expect. It has nothing to do with the draftee's potential.
