My new guy is 6'5" MVP potentiel. He has "average to respectable" attributes everywhere. Should i train him as SG since i am training a MVP PG at the same time?

Yes sure why not. Nothing wrong with a powerful line-up the oppenent cant stop :). you could might move one to sf and other stay at sg and or switch them back and forwards, have a very powerful lineup in the future of your team if you train them right. Also finding the right tactic to make hard to guards in games
Also congrats on getting a mvp player inthe draft

I would recommend making him an SG/SF. Train him like you would an SG, but add some IS and ID (and possibly rebounding) when you can. That can be done later, for now I would recommend training him like an SG
