Actually in pretty much all Language Databases are names connected to other nations. It would be great if players get dual citizenship to some degree, let´s say 1/10 players hold a dual, and on each NT there´s no more than 3 slots for dual players. In that case the "the one who signs him up can play him as long as he´s on the roster" rule should do fine and may spice up the NT rivalries and the importance of good scouting.

Could be "real life" linked, like German players having Turkish, Italian, Dutch, Austrian, Suisse, Czech, Polish, Kroatian / Serbian, Greek and to a low percentage US, Australia, South America Duals.

problem i see with the 2 seasons then bam....

is wealthy people in micronations buying up American players who weren't good enough yet, or some crap like that. Keeping them for 2 years, and then boom! Instant NT kinda people for them.

or for the countries where there's less people and finding/buying MVP+ potential guys young is rare, doing so with all the American 18 year olds like that. To where they can have the guy by time he's 20 be eligible for both their u21 and NT and all they have to do is train them.

I don't see that as a problem. It would level the playing field, which is good as the national teams of micro-nations currently don't have a chance. Also, there could be a limit to how many dual citizens you can have on your national teams.

You say level the playing field.... I say sabotage other nations chances...

What's to stop teams from stock piling money, buying a guy holding until nationality changes, then firing?

What stops them from doing so without the nationality change?

I´d prefer double nationalities with no real change in availability. if he´s on one team´s squad (NT wise), he can´t play for the other, if he´s free and not on a NT, both eligible NTs can claim him, no matter when or if he played on any NT team before.

It is not a bad idea. In Battrick once a player has been based in a country for 3 full seasons they become dual nationality and then can be picked for either NT. It is a good system. Happens in all sports. If you live somewhere for long enough abd become a citizen you can play for that country. In fact in the Olympics in Australia we often get weight lifters from Eastern Europe who get citizenship here.

This suggestion came up like a dozen times in different variations and I always loved it. Unfortunately I think this is one of several good suggestions we will never see implemented in this game.

Smaller nations would grow their talent pool without hurting the big nations. Losing a good prospect (team going bot, stubborn/dumb owner) can be devastating for a small nation, so allowing to switch nationalities could help a lot in this regard, as small nations could compensate these losses pretty easily.

I agree.

It also allows users who moved to a new country the option of training a player for their original country.
