Problem: You have to choose either training or winning. A lot of times you have two different trainees and each one needs a different type of training.

Each country would have its development league, consisted of bots only. You can send max 1 trainee to D-League at a time, any time. In return, at beginning of the season you choose a day when you can't train (so basically, you transfer 48 minutes of training to D-League). If you don't choose a training-free day in time, say during postseason, the training-free day by default would be Thursday.

For each minute of playing time for your trainee, you pay (you can set that weekly).

D.I: 1.000/minute
D.II: 500/minute
D.III: 300/minute
D.IV: 200/minute
D.V: 100/minute

The money then gets included into TV rights and thus distributed to all teams on weekly basis. So teams that don't choose to send their trainee to D-league get the benefit out of it anyway.
Of course you still pay the trainee's salary.

If needed, age limit could be applied. In the week the trainee is assigned to D-league team, you can't play him in your league or cup games. His game shape goes up or down according to the minutes he gets.

Interesting concept.

So basically you pick one of your games during the season to be the game where your trainee isnt allowed to play. That could be a different player each week, but always the same game-day.
and then you would pay for those minutes.

Ive always liked the idea of a D-league, this idea is a nice theory - but personally, the 'problem' that you describe - ie: Training or winning - this is what makes the game good. If i have trainee's, and I need to train them, then I need to work out which game during the round to set my trainee's. If im going to TIE one game, then thats where i set trainee one, and then in the scrimmage, trainee two.

The better managers in this game, are excellent at being able to train and win. That is the challange of the game. I dont really want something that takes away this challange. I think its a good challange.

So yer. Nice idea - but i dont like the problem that its trying to solve.

Actually the bigger problem is having non-complementary trainees. And if you send your trainee to D-league, you have to pay good money that is distributed to other teams. Me for example, I'd have to pay 48k a week to get a player a full training in D-league and still not have it at Proficient GS. You bet I wouldn't use that option every week. As it goes for winning VS training, I was always ok with that. I'm used to play 190k centers at PG
