Besides BuzzerBeater, I play one other online manager game, ManagerZone:
http://www.managerzone.com/ I actually came to BuzzerBeater from an ad I saw on ManagerZone. Anyway, after playing ManagerZone for awhile I got bored with the game and stopped. More than two months later I decided to log in to see if my team was still there. And it was. Now, I've actually gotten into it for a second time. If that happened on BuzzerBeater, I would have lost my team for good, and not gotten enthralled in the game again.
So, my suggestion is to either lengthen the time it takes for a team to go bot, or give managers the ability to reactivate their old bottified accounts if a new manager hasn't taken control of the franchise.
Reactivating a team though, would basically give you a new team, with the same arena, and maybe some former players that have since retired. I think it would be really cool if players could come out of retirement like this.
