Besides BuzzerBeater, I play one other online manager game, ManagerZone: http://www.managerzone.com/ I actually came to BuzzerBeater from an ad I saw on ManagerZone. Anyway, after playing ManagerZone for awhile I got bored with the game and stopped. More than two months later I decided to log in to see if my team was still there. And it was. Now, I've actually gotten into it for a second time. If that happened on BuzzerBeater, I would have lost my team for good, and not gotten enthralled in the game again.
So, my suggestion is to either lengthen the time it takes for a team to go bot, or give managers the ability to reactivate their old bottified accounts if a new manager hasn't taken control of the franchise.
Reactivating a team though, would basically give you a new team, with the same arena, and maybe some former players that have since retired. I think it would be really cool if players could come out of retirement like this.

We don't need any buzzerbeater Brett farces coming out of retirement haha. I personally do not like this idea because I think that the time for a team to go not is too long already and it always messes with league games because it gives teams automat wins normally once their teams game shape has died and is just a hassle to deal with. I also don't care for your idea of having your old arena back along with some of your players because that gives you a huge advantage over other players who are joining as well. I think if you really lose interest in this game, leave, and want to come back and give it another go then you should have to start from the beginning. Besides for almost all cases people would love to start from scratch and do things differently, get better trainees, not waste money on silly things. I think there are more suggestions of decreasing the time period for a team to go bot because at least 10 people in the forums that I know of have asked if they can restart because they actually understand the game now.

Wanting to restart with a new team is illogical. Even if you spent three seasons or so wasting money on bad transfers, you're probably in better shape than a team just starting out. You have to really screw up to make restarting the right decision.

I disagree. I've always wished that I started out with better rookies on my team like some teams do because then you can immediately start building the core of your team. Even if you disagree though, you can agree that it wouldn't be fair to restart with your old team and a huge arena in a low league because you would instantly dominate and all the other teams that are new to the game would lose interest because you blow everyone out of the water.

So, it's only logical to get a new team if you started with nothing and you haven't done anything.
