What attributes contribute in getting steals? I am asking this question because I have a small Forward rookie with Inept outside defense and he gets a lot of steals (2-3 per game)

Handling vs his opponent plays a large role. Possibly his OD/ID too.

I find steals to be very random and not really effected by the skills of the player. If I had to guess, I would say this is more of a hidden attribute than anything that you can train and it's probably effected by the poor ball-handling skills of the opponent more so than your own player's defense.

I am guessing you are referring to Barbosa. In his case it absolutely looks to be a hidden aggression attribute since he also tends to foul a lot. Fouls and rebounds appear to me to be the biggest identifiers of high aggression but steals may also be a signal.

My best pickpockets are also the highest OD+H on my team. It's probably as dependent on your Flow being better than the other team which is why he gets so many steals vs Bots.

I've never noticed a link between fouls and steals. It's almost certain that there are several hidden attributes that contribute to different skills not just one blanket 'aggression' attribute. I don't even think there's a strong link between a player committing fouls on defense and drawing fouls on offense, I think they're in there as 2 different attributes.
