Hello i've just aquired a new player. I bid on him without realizing his salary was a lot. I feel i can make this work but need to formulate some sort of financial plan and try to sell some of my other players during the offseason. So any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Sell him asap or even dump him befor next monday. You will never be able to make that kind of money in DV or even in DIV. In four weeks from now you are going to be bankrupt.

And even if u manage to keep him, your team will be so weak at other positions that your opponent will easily win against you.

There are a couple of problems here - you can't play him in your playoff games, but since yuu are still in the playoffs you'll have to pay his salary on Monday. And his salary is high enough that even if you promote, and had nobody else on your team at all but still managed to sell out your arena, you'd still lose a ton of money each week. This is not going to be an easy thing to do, but the only intelligent thing to do is to fire him before the economic update. If you fire him, you're just out the 80k that you spent to bring him in, but if you attempt to sell him you'll have to pay his almost 200k salary with little chance of recovering the 200k on the transfer.

But put any thoughts of making it work out of your mind. The only thing that player will do for you is lead you to financial ruin. Get rid of him before it's too late, try to invest in building up your arena rather than spending money on players, and always make sure to check out salary when you do look at buying players.

He's not eligible for playoff action
can't use him at all, just dump him now, cost not that bad for a lesson learned

I wouldn't even sell him, I would cut outright him before Monday.

That way you minimize your loss to the $80,000 you paid for him and you'll avoid paying his $195,000 salary on Monday which is going to happen if you choose to sell him.

Don't even consider keeping him long term, you're in D5. Your entire payroll needs to be lower than his salary alone. A guy like this will cripple you financially.

Losing $80,000 sucks but hanging onto him for 3 weeks and losing $700,000 sucks even worse.

I have trouble deciding sometimes if a player with 25K salary is worth investing in
In fact I bought/fired such a player once. The most I have ever paid for a salary was $22,000...in 3.5 seasons of play.

Now 200K well...

Yet it didn't stop you from bidding 1k on a few very pricy guards near the transfer deadline. ;)

Haha

Yeah. I ended up bidding up to 250K on a 21K salary SF. But didn't get the bid either
Tried going for another 22K Salary SF today 350K. He ended up selling for 450K
Sometimes I bid 1K just to see where he will land. Its easier to monitor without supporter.

I got a few players I might buy in the 20K-30K salary range. Most likely they will be above age 32 though. I'm cheap though. Never have paid more than 200K for a player.
