Hi guys,

Asking opinions here...Coming into a game later today and was wondering whether I should set my team to CT or Normal.

--They are #1 seed (although, to be fair, only because I tanked the last game of the season to make sure my first round opponent was a new team and pretty much a guaranteed win) and I am #2.
--I beat this team twice during the regular season on TIE while the other team was playing Normal.
--I'm pretty sure I have higher ENT since he played normal in our game on 5/14 and I've played TIE all season long (OTOH, the long spell between games since being eliminated from the Cup really knocks down ENT over the course of Tues to Sat)
--They played a very tough first round game, and if both teams played CT, then I'll have a HUGE ENT advantage, but the box score just shows that both those teams played at the same level, so they both could've been playing on PO Normal.

Can I figure that if I was able to beat this team when I was TIE and it was Normal, that if my team is Normal and they are CT, that it's pretty much the same thing? Or is there a difference between the gap between TIE/Normal vs. Normal/CT?

Thanks!

Looking at the best teams from the other conference (and I mean Bamboo Shoots firstly and then Dragonmasters), I'd say that they are strong favourites to win the promotion. So, you have two options:

1. Make sure you proceed to the finals (POCT today) to get the money from the games, and then be realistic about your chances of promotion, which are very very slim.

2. PON today and then try to steal G1. That is IF you win today. Your opponent has good game shape, he isn't that worse from you salarywise, he may change his PTB, you have an injury... You'll probably win today but is 1 point in ENTH worth the risk?

Anyway, I'd go with option #1. The thing is that I'll go with option #1 today. I'm playing in an exactly same situation today. Away, with a team I won with TIE vs Normal in regular season. I'm far better but just because I know my chances of promoting are very low in the finals, I'll POCT just to make sure I'll go to the next round, grab the money and who knows?

As a reference, PON = TIE and POCT = Normal, so if you play PON vs. POCT in the playoffs, it is the same as TIE vs. Normal in the regular season.

I agree with the person above me that said you should POCT for the guaranteed win. If you are a gambler though, you could PON and probably win.

Don't listen to the other two guys. Playoff Normal is your only chance at winning the league and promoting. Otherwisde you'll lose in the final.
