I'll start the ball rolling this time, welcome to III.16 newcomers! That is New York Wolves, West Coast Eagles and Under Dogs who won their IV league - congratulations, and to drongo from the coasters who was relagated from DivII. Watch out for him..

Good luck to all and lets have a good season. I am not holding back this time but am still heavily training focussed with my boy Roosevelt representing the Aussie U21 team.

Cheers all,

PP

Yeah it would have been a better final with you and me in it :) Good luck this season. Look forward to our match about a quarter through the season, anything could have happened by then!

Yeah the forum exists, generally good for talkin' trash and whinging about losing (thats what I have always used them for..). Looks like you are the team to beat this season, our TV match will be a big one in a months time. I'll play to win!

Hello again all and good luck for the coming season. Hopefully not to many bots or bots to be and it should be an interesting season ahead. Still saving, training and building my arena at this stage but I will never tank lol.

I'll start with a rather basic and opinionated review on the Big 8 first up this year, here goes....
<Team> <Starting 5 Rating/Bench Rating>

Olivers Oilers(19/12) Dangerous big men for the oilers with likely the best bench in the big 8. Will challenge for a top 4 spot but they might have to fight for a home play-off come finals time. Possibly win the championship but doubtful without a signing or two. Prediction : Semi-Finals

Hamertime(19/10) Alex III is a potential MVP this season but their starting is aging badly. The bench is reasonably good but they might struggle against the better sides in the league. Should make the play-offs but will struggle to reach the semi's with the current squad. Prediction : Quarter-Finals

Blue Wolves(22/10) Well balanced side with room for improvement still. Will be a tough team to beat this year, the bench is solid enough and barring injuries should come top the big 8. Definetly one of the championship faves and are one of the bench marks of the comp. Should make the Final. Prediction : Runner-Up

South East Ravens(14/1) Fantastic trainee and a dominant bigman. Couple of decent youngsters and thats about it. Without some signings the Ravens will struggle all year and likely drop to DIV IV. They must have some plan in mind. As it stands they be bottem 2 in the big 8 but whos knows what to expect with signings. Prediction : Relegation Play-Off

Gold Coast Metal(18/3) An unstoppable PF and likely the best player in the competition paired up with a competant centre is a great start but thats it.... Metal could do anything this year, made a careless mistake finals time last year and looked the good with some key signings before the play-offs but missed out in the end. If they purchase some decent guards they'll be a huge threat and potential champions. With the current squad they'll be battling for a spot in the play-offs. Prediction : 6th place in the big 8.

Ska Kings(18/9) Great young centre and decent side all round but do they have enough? Their bench is reasonable and could potentially beat anyone on the day but I doubt they can consistantly compete enough to challenge for the title. Still could be a dark horse. Prediction : 5th place in the big 8.

Victorian Bears(20/7) Aging starting five but skilled nonetheless and will cause headaches for the best. The bench is a little concerning but that could be easily rectified. Tough side to predict but they will make the play-offs, how much further will depend on signing and team management but they could potentially finish top of the big 8. Prediction : Quarter-Finals.

West Coast Eagles(9/5) Couple of quality trainees but thats it. Will finish bottem without additions to the roster which are sure to happen? Otherwise they'll struggle to win a game. Prediction : Bottem of the big 8.

Great write ups mate. Looking forward to the Great 8 analysis. That's the quality side of the draw! ;)

Actually maybe I'll throw in my 2 cents as I have a little time - Blue Wolves have got the team, but they don't have the income. In fact they might be losing money. Look at their arena, only 7442 capacity! Tiny. They aren't going to get much from home matches. So unless they have some $ in the bank... an they even afford to keep those high salary players?
