I and some others enjoyed this last season, so I figured I'd do it again. This coming week's USA National Tournament games by the numbers:

12 – NBBA teams still alive (75% of NBBA teams, 2.3% of all remaining cup teams)
47 – D.II teams still alive (73.4% of D.II teams, 9.2% of all remaining cup teams)
128 – D.III teams still alive (50% of D.III teams, 25% of all remaining cup teams)
228 – D.IV teams still alive (22.3% of D.IV teams, 44.5% of all remaining cup teams)
94 – D.V teams still alive (2.3% of D.V teams, 18.4% of all remaining cup teams)
4 – Bots still alive (0.8% of all remaining cup teams)
7680 – teams already eliminated from the cup
77 – same-division match-ups this round (NBBA-0; D.II-5; D.III-20; D.IV-47; D.V-5)
9 – wins needed to claim the tournament championship
3 – wins before the prize starts increasing
632 – average country rank (CR) of teams still in the cup
490 – median CR of teams still in the cup
72 – top 100 CR teams still in the cup
263 – top 512 CR teams still in the cup

My d. V team we t through 3 straight d. Iv teams to get here but alas my run is guarenteed to be over


Edit: checked... Yup The Real McCoys are in fact not a d. IV team.

I took my 37k salary team as far as I could though and against teams with much better players

You have only played 2 D.IV teams in the Cup this year.

Looks like you scraped through by a baw' hair there. Good work.

Here's one of the great finishes of Round 5. (62063382)

SLC Jazz trailed by 10 with 1:24 to play and proceeded to bury 6 three-pointers down the stretch while fouling. They got within 2 with the ball, only to miss a layup and putback jumper in the final second and lose by 2.

Fourth quarter was 51-48. Amazing match.

Because listening to it on radio would have been boring.

I don't know.... Watching X's and O's on a screen accompanied by commentary that you have to read, as the minutes tick away, isn't much better. It's not like we're watching prime time television here, haha. ;)
