The BBs deserve credit for the effort of stopping the dominance of LI but as of now, it is still dominant.


So, I have 2 suggestion on how to decrease its effect.

1. Increase the effect of OD inside the arc.
- Correct me if Im wrong, but as a offensive player goes closer, the effect of OD decrease. So here is my simple suggestion, how about reducing the decrease rate of OD as a player goes nearer to the basket. I think a slight reduction could give a great boost in defending LI.
ex: let us say that right now the effect of OD decrease by 20% per feet of closeness to the ring so you decrease that to, let us say, 16%.

2. Continue Increasing the effect of SB

I think the solution is much easier and probably less demanding for the BB's. That would be to lower the salary impact of JR and SB and raise the salary effect of OD and IS. I almost bet this will be implanted next season.

It might even be enough just to lower the salary cost of JR and SB. This way you have a decision to make when training your player, do you want to spend the time to make him a defensive force or spend your time turning him into a 3 point machine. Do you want Tony Allen, defensive specialist, or do you want Martell Webster a guy who just shoots 3 pointers and that's pretty much it.

But still, that will only make the managers think if they will continue LI or not and they can still continue it and win those games.

The current GE changes have done nothing. I don't follow B3 so maybe things have changed there but in Australia LI/M2M is still a no brainer and about 80-90% of the top teams run it every game. If they want change they need to do something radical. Everyone has the LI players, they have been trained for 10 seasons now, to force a chance they actually need to break it for a bit. 2/3 zone should destroy LI. Destroy! SB should be useful but is still by far the worst big man skill. The cost of player's salaries is a way to start but at the NT level, B3 and division Is where money is no object it will not change anythng.

Massive changes needed are:
2/3 zone is still hopeless fix it.
SB is still the worst skill in the game fix it.
FG % for outside shooting is still way too low fix it.
LI gets way too many high % shots, draws too many fouls and can be run with cost efficient players fix it.

If they DOUBLED, yes DOUBLED the salaries caused by IS on big men I still don't think it would solve the problem. Tinkering with 5% here or there will do nothing.
