I bet this was asked many times but is star rating (number of balls after scouting once) related to potential and/ or grade rating?
If not, should I then compare match rating of all the players scouted once and interview the ones that look promising?

I interviewed all the players with 5 balls star rating and ended up with one having 1 ball of potential, making me wonder if star rating is random.

5 rating relates to initial skills/ salary. Potential refers to potential( Hall of tamer, super star, etc.). A player can have top notch skills initially(compared to others in draft class) but have no room for growth.

I'm following you but isn't salary already affected by grade rating? I mean, if grade rating is the number of skill points a player has, that is already affecting his salary.

Where am I wrong?

The grade rating gets more specific, IMO. Star rating will generally tell you that your player is an "A" caliber player but the grade will show if he's A+, A or A-.(Same with other letters)

Has anyone scouted a player with more potential balls, than star rating balls?

People told me it's possible but I still haven't found anyone like that
I got 5/3 5/2 3/2 and one 3/3 guy

Search the TL for 18yos with less than $2k salary and MVP+ potential. Clearly they had less than 5 ball star rating judging by their salary, but they had 5-ball potential (MVP+). There are at least two such players on the TL right now.

i had some players with 4/5 , 4/4 and 2 players with 3/5 a few saisons ago.
i interviewed all the 4 ball-players and the 18 year old(plus right height) 3 ball-players cause i draftet in the last places.

and last draft i took an 19 yer old mvp who was at 2k salary. i think he would have had 3 balls (but i didn´t scout anyone in that draft)

Thanks for the answer. I heard it before, but haven't encountered such players yet.

Horrible draft so far btw, spent 28 point and haven't found anything..

Can anyone post the thresholds for A- / A / A+ in terms of rookie salaries ? Is it 3700-4000-4300 ?
