This is my second season playing BB and I feel like I got the basics down. I have read the game manual and RiP's informative Guide to BB regarding my arena problem. I know how to make it a consistent financial success. It just really frustrates me because I don't know in what direction to take my arena development. I know I should have a certain arena guideline which illustrates how much I should have my arena before moving up divisions so I don't get their and fall on my butt. Should I try to expand my arena every chance I get to I can reach my goal or should I increase my arena size based on my attendance to revenue ratio? If I do increase my arena size every chance I get so I can reach my goal should my increase in size stay constant or be able to variate to my preference?

Hope I can get a reply soon !

P.S. If anyone has a chart that guidelines that have some good rough estimates regarding how an arena should look before moving up to each division please don't hesitate to share with a brother :)

My advice. Build as much as possible with all that you have while you can in the lower divisions. One way I look at promoting and remaining competitive is, look at the Div above, look at the competitive teams, if you have an Arena that at 90%+ could sustain a roster like theirs, then you are looking ok (not awesome, ok) This is what I use as a starting point but I am sure there are and will be suggestions in different formulas thrown around, but for a real basic (and quick) starting point, I find this works for me.

As for what to build. Look to get your Courtside (capped at 500) & Lower Tier built up first, then Lux (capped at 50) & Bleachers up next. Build in blocks that take less days than your next home game (you will have the possibility of making revenue straight away)

If you could get

Bleachers :............5000 - 6000
Lower Tier :...........2000
Courtside Seats :.....500
Luxury Boxes :........10

Total....................7510 - 8510

This should be setting you up to compete, and if you could add some more when you got up there gradually, you could start building a very profitable Arena.

I'll echo what the suave gentleman with the tasteful Ron Burgundy avatar stated for the most part. What I would suggest is not getting luxury boxes to 50 yet, though - even 40 is too high until you're successful in III (and I can barely move all 40 at the minimum $400 price, as a brief test at $410 proved). The courtside seats are extremely important too, though, as are the lower tier. I figure it's better to try to bite the bullet to get the expensive seats built earlier on while the money is more plentiful in lower divisions, and then you can later round out with promotion bonuses. Overbuilding bleachers is nice when you're dominating a league, but if you step up a level and are getting pounded and the promotion bonus wears off, it's not a pretty sight.

As far as ratios, that's up to you, but I'd say something like 9000/2000/500/25 would be a good target to build toward initially.

This is what I would go for. Slowing building up each section and you are ready to bring in max. value for your home games with the promotion bonus you get in the first half of the season at the new division.

I also recommend building in small increments so you are ready for either the next home game (6 day estimated building time) or the next next home game (10-12 days building time).

This does cost quite a bit of coin, but if you are thinking long term, this is the best for your team. Pretty much what I did except I lagged behind in lower tier and am just now polishing that section off in Div 1 with the TV revenue each week.

4500 450 50 0 (starting values)

5500 1500 100 10 (immediately get to this)

7250 3000 200 20 (when ready to promote to Div 4)

9500 4500 300 30 (when ready to promote to Div 3)

10750 6000 400 40 (when ready to promote to Div 2)

13000 7000 500 50 (when ready to promote to Div 1)

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Some facts about the arenas in my Div. III league:

8 teams have 13K or more bleachers, and 3 are over 18K. 9500 would be 5th-lowest.
1 team has 3K LT, and no one else is over 2095. It's hard to imagine 4500 as a target for this division being necessary at all.
10 teams have at least 300 courtside, so that one seems to be on target.
There are 2 teams with 50 boxes, one with 45, one with 30 and the rest have 22 or fewer.

I'm not saying the builds Kumiko suggests aren't going to work, but it's possible you could fill quite a few more bleachers and not fill all those LT seats, too.

So have a race to see who can have the most bleachers. Go ahead.

In my league, the team with the 4th lowest bleachers has the 1st highest attendance money.

If you want to build that many bleachers by div 3, then be my guest, but then stop building them entirely after 13k.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

I only have 11K bleachers and am doing all my additional building in LT and Courtside now. I was just questioning whether D-III teams can sell as many LT as you suggested. I just don't have any frame of reference to know one way or the other.

I'd say at least 3500 should be feasible, but I'm not sure if you can sell much more than that. I think I was hitting the 3k mark pretty close to consistently at $23 for lower tier, but at $24 I won't for a while now (i.e., until playoffs), since I just took a major hit on my fan survey.

Courtside definitely should be maxed out. Luxury for III really isn't going to top 40.

Yes 500 is correct.
