I have a question regarding game shape training and would appreciate any feedback. As you would ascertain from the title I am training Game Shape this week with a view to challenging for the title - I have two guys is pretty poor GS. 1 due to a 2 week injury and the other due to being a purchase a week or so ago.

Now my question is does the game process GS as per normal as detailed by minutes played, THEN apply the GS training? For example if my guy has played optimal minutes would he get a GS increase due to the normal processing then a (possible) increase due to the training?

The reason I ask is that I have had two pretty easy wins this week and my starters have only played 50-60 minutes which is a little bit low and I want to know if I should risk playing them as backups in the scrimmage to get their minutes up, as well as training GS? Alternatively should I just leave them out (which I am inclined to do to eliminate chance of injury) trusting the GS training to handle the GS for me?

Thoughts appreciated...

My understanding is you don't see extra from GS training. I would go with the 50-60 mins gained already and train GS to cover risk. The converse risk applies I guess if you list them in the scrimmage to get the minutes and they end up injured.

Going to be a tough game either way against Hadders.

Take this as you want, but I have trained GS a lot during competive seasons and what I have noticed is that if your guys have 50-70 minutes played it is actually the best time to train GS. Many times I have seen players move up 2 levels in GS. However, anymore or less in minutes and you might just see a minor boost in GS( judging by DMI).

I had a guy start last week on resp gs and he got good minutes and I trained gameshape and he went up to Proficient and his DMI more then doubled. My team as a while went up over 25% in total DMI for the week.
So I think you can get a big double increase if you get mins correct and train gameshape also.

I have half my team on 50 mins before scrim and putting them all in as back ups. as If I can get them 12 to 20 mins they will all max out gameshape I believe

Just in case anyone is interested - I left my guys sitting at 50-60 minutes for the week and trained game shape and got really good results. One guy got two pops and the other only got one but was at a pretty high sub-level based on DMI - so was happy with my decision.
