Hello all, I am announcing my candidacy for National Team manager for seasons 25 and 26.

About Me

I started Buzzerbeater in season 12 and have climbed up the ranks during my 12 seasons on here. I began working with the NT staff in season 15 where I realized my ultimate goal on buzzerbeater was to run the USA National Team. In the past I got limited experience through running the Luxembourg NT about 4 seasons ago. This experience allowed me to see the ins and outs of National Team management as well as see how much discipline comes with the role.

Why You Should Elect Me

Now, I can't sit here and promise gold trophies because we have a very tough road ahead of us, but I can guarantee you that I will build on what we have with my eyes on the future, and that future does hold worlds trophys.

We will be seeing many of our star players aging out in the coming seasons and I want to transition seamlessly from the past to the future. I will bridge that gap between world powerhouses and the United States so that we can be known as a team that everyone looks up to and wants to become.

As everyone knows and can see with their own eyes, many users are starting to turn to outside offenses. This past season we saw powerhouse Czech Republic beat us while using the Princeton offense. One that many always believed was an impossible tactic to win with, but we saw it can be ran successfully even at the highest level. With that transition from past to future, I will implement small but valuable changes in our training regimen that will allow for flexibility in training of our future NT players to create a combination of players to run any given tactic. This does not mean I am running away from the Look Inside offense, but merely making it available for us to run other tactics. However, this will not be done to catch up to teams that are already making the transition to other offenses. This will be done to separate ourselves from the pack and lead us to elite status amongst National Teams.

What I Will Be Doing
During my time as your National Team manager, I will be in contact with many managers to form a combination of players that will allow us to run different tactics. I will also work on bringing more of our future National Team players in to American Users' hands. We need to take pride in our own players and that will start by focusing on calling up players that are on reliable USA teams (but NT worthy).

Last Words

As I mentioned before, this has always been my ultimate goal on buzzerbeater, to be your NT manager. I would be honored to have the opportunity and I will make this my first priority and having my own team take a back seat. I will not let you guys down and I will bring us closer to our goal of a Worlds Trophy.

Hey, I'm magiker, and I’m running to be the manager of the USA NT. I was the USA U21 manager for 4 seasons, and we won 1 worlds gold (S19), 1 worlds silver (S21), and 2 America’s golds. (S18, S20). Pretty good for 4 seasons. I was, however, blessed with some of the best u21 teams ever. I think the best season I had as manager was S21, as that team probably had no business being in the final.

The focus of my term is going to be mostly on player development. While I think we’re better than the first round exits we’ve had at worlds, I don’t think we’re good enough to actually compete for gold. Poland has better players than we do, and at this point, there’s very little any manager can do to overcome that difference. If we’re going to win, we need better players. Fortunately, there are a lot of guys I’m really excited about in the 23-25 age range. Couple these guys with what we already have 29 and younger, and I think we can be quite good.

I think it’s important to have a NT manager who’s experienced in player development. I’ve already developed a NT guard (who’s still in the process of training), and I’m working on two other NT players. I’ve been a scout for some of the 22+ guys for a couple seasons, and have been working with other managers on developing players for the U21 and NT teams since season 18. This isn’t trivial. There needs to be a plan in place, and an understanding of what the team will look like in 2-5 seasons down the road. If we're going to develop players for other tactics, there needs to be a good core of people doing the same thing, or it won't work. I think I have a good handle on what skill sets are both useful at the NT level and are sustainable in the NBBA and other competitive D1 leagues.

My goal for these next two seasons is to compete for a semi-final at worlds. I don’t know if we’re good enough to get there, and I’m cautious because I’ve been guilty of overestimating our team in the past. With sound tactics and some stamina/FT training, I think we can compete for a spot in the semis.

If you’ve got any questions I’ll do my best to get to them in the debate thread. Thanks.

Hey I am Ruaidri,

I have been the coach of the Netherlands for the last 6 seasons.
I have been playing this game since season 11.

I don't have the knowledge of USA players as the other candidates, but I have experience as a national coach.
I know a lot about the teams in Europe and know many of the big players of the big teams in Europe.
So on the world stage I believe with the right players I can compete.

You probably wonder why I won't run again in the Netherlands. That reason is simple, the Netherlands are just a small country and will never be able to compete with the big countries. And I want to compete for the big prizes.

Why I am interested in the United States. I speak your language! And as far as I can see you have a very good database system to track your players.

Give me the good players and I will bring glory! I am an expert in tactics and I don't believe that Look Inside, man to man is always the best option for a team.

Choose me, if you want a fresh look on team USA and an experienced NT coach to run your team.

Only in the dark, we succeed!

GOLD OR BUST

And no... not that soft continental gold... In fact I fully expect Canada to be this seasons Americas champs.

Hello all, Eminence here (or Sawyer, whatever). I'm a pre-pharmacy student at SDSU and am interested in hopping the pond and coming home to be NT coach. I have several seasons experience with NTs, if I remember correctly: 2 seasons as a scout/trainer for Canada, 2 seasons as a scout for England U21, 2 seasons as English U21 manager, 1 season as English general scout, 4 seasons as English NT coach. I'd say my record is pretty good, my Canadian PG shut down your boy Chuck Rainey, I was the first and still only English U21 coach to make it out of group phase in Europe, and raised the NT rank in England from 45th to the current high of #23.

I would like to make it clear, I believe the system we have in place here in the states is great, we are getting good players, and they have good homes. Our community interaction is also great. But I believe recently we've had a bit too much of the NT managers being afraid to step up and take responsibility, they are the managers and in the end it's up to them. If I'm elected to the NT there won't be any of this, I'll make my tactical/roster decisions and we'll sink or swim or whether or not I make good decisions.

So yeah, vote for me if you'd like, and ask away in the discussion thread (please title posts directly for me, I may not have time to read through the whole thread).
