I am very frustrated with the staff system here on Buzzerbeater.

I have bid and bid and bid and bid to get rid of my Superior Coach who was making $41,000 as of today when I finally got disgusted and fired him.

I have logical reasons for why I think the system in its current form is terrible:

1) Nowhere in the world does any profession offer a weekly pay raise -- it is ludicrous and should be changed.

2) Bidding for a trainer is absurd. At some point, I should be able to offer a contract and an individual agrees to come to work for you. Can they be lured away at a later date? Sure. Can they be given a counter offer? Sure but at some point the "buy it now" format HAS to kick in.

3) The search function is flawed. Every time I run a search, I am only given options whose bidding periods expire a minimum of 5 hours from the time of search. The only way I can seem to find a player who matches my "very strict" search criteria of "superior" is if I have previously put a bid in on that player.

4) Trainers, Doctors and PR folks for mid-level basketball teams are not highly sought positions. In fact, many of these folks are required to have other jobs just to make ends meet. Obviously, this is different for NBA teams but clearly not all teams can afford to higher the best of the best in these respective fields.

Are you frustrated with this system? Am I missing something? Is there some tip or trick that I don't know on how to find a staff member whose deadline is imminent?

You can get a good price on a trainer in the middle of the season. If you wait until the evening/nighttime to buy staff/players it takes the sleeping European players and a large chunk of the userbase out of the picture. Don't look for staff members on gamedays when there are more people. Do you really need a superior trainer that is only 10% better than an advanced trainer in DIV? I usually only bid on staff at the end of their auction time. No one can up bid you if you are the last person to bid.

Adding to what you said in # 1 it would seem that if a players salary is going to continuously go up, that should be an indication that his performance is continually improving as well. so it would be cool if you bought an advanced level Dr, that at some point witb his pay raises, he should go from advanced to superior, and after more pay raises he should go to the next level from there.

It does not make sense that his pay would go up but his performance or ability would stay the same.

I have tried this. I have tried looking at all times of days. (I'm lucky enough to work from home) When I do a search, the next trainer to come up for deadline is always 5 hours or better away.

I get a yearly raise no matter what I do at my job. That's similar, eh?

Similar, yes. Not the same, however.

Is your raise based on contract or is it at management's discretion based on a review? Are you protected by a Union that stipulates the terms of that raise?
