My scrimmage's opponent did not show up, so I had a walk over. My players, by default, got trained 43 minutes only. Why do they get penalized for 5 minutes less of training when I have no control over whether my opponent will set up their lineup? Just saying...

Hi lopo! Maybe the BBs made it this way so that people couldn't get a surefire 48+ training in a walkover. I know how annoying this can be, but there's nothing that can be done about it. Funny thing is, I though walkovers were like this:

Starter: 36 minutes
Backup: 10 minutes
Reserve: 2 minutes

Did they change the amount of minutes given to players in a walkover?

Hey Dig_Dogs! Long time no talk... :) I see you're #1 right now... Congrats to you! Best of luck to you in the Playoffs...

Back to the matter at hand... you might be right about the minutes. I simply don't know enough about BB. What happened is that I only set up 5 players total so that's how I got 43 minutes for the trainees. Check my game (65400772)

Yeah regular starter gets 36 minutes, but if you set the same player as backup and reserve he gets 43.

I guess this is indeed to prevent the surefire 48+ minutes for trainees, if you find an opponent that doesn't train players to give you a walkover every week that's a cheap way of making sure your trainees get their minutes.

Yes, if a player is listed as both a starter and backup, he loses 5 minutes. It is absolutely possible to go over 48 minutes by playing a player as a backup at multiple positions, though it is impossible to get more than 43 minutes in a single position. On the bright side, since it's a walkover, your players may still be injured! But don't field a blank lineup or they won't get any minutes at all. I think that's pretty much all the unusual stuff involved in walkovers.

All,

In all seriousness about the original topic... I understand the concerns related to "freeloading" on training but you are simply penalizing the rest of the managers who are trying to play by the rules and have no control over whether the opponent will set up a line up or not. The penalty my two players took is a sizable 10.4%.

Since this is all programming, could I make a suggestion? If a manager has three consecutive walk overs in scrimmage matches, then the time limits come into effect for the next 26 weeks regardless of whether they stopped arranging walk over games or not.

Additionally, to further reduce the loop hole on the word "consecutive", I would like to propose that after one walk over has happened, BB can add a flag to the "suspected" team to monitor for the next 6 weeks, and if within this time there is another walk over, the monitoring time will be extended 12 weeks after the latest event. If it happens again within the time, then the penalty is applied to the next 26 weeks. Otherwise, the flag is reset and no harm should be done to the "honest" manager.

But in reality, what is the negative consequences of having two managers agree to walk overs in the long run? There isn't really an unfair advantage... even considering injury since it is so random anyway.

The weather's nice, but that same godawful smell persists there that I had to endure in IV.41, and III.5, and, come to think of it, everywhere I've ever been. They really should do something about that.

As far as the walkovers idea, I agree that it sucks that the team that didn't set the walkover gets punished. It's just something that I've come to accept is part of the game and I'd like to see fixed - ideally by just fielding a bunch of lucky fans that have been modified to be entirely docile instead of hyper-aggressive like normal lucky fans are, and fining the team for fielding a walkover.

So wait, how do you get 48 minutes for one player in a walkover?
I listed one trainee as starting PG, and then backup and reserve SG, and he only ended up with 43 minutes total.
Should I have listed him as backup at 3 more positions so he'd get 49 minutes?
