Fastforward to 52 seconds left in the game essentially...

at 31 seconds left, my team is down by 3, misses a shot.

Does not foul immediately...like common sense....

Other team gets a 3 after 13 seconds.
My team then calls a timeout... (subs my trainee of course), and then shoots, misses, and IMMEDIATELY (with 10 seconds) fouls, then calls a timeout again!

.....Why at 18 seconds in a 6 point game do they foul etc? but not at 31 seconds in a 3 point game?

EGM-Perpete

I apologize... I forgot to put my suggestion in it:

I suggest that they put something into the logarithm about a team would call a timeout if they had the lead all game then the other team goes up 7 all of a sudden.

Also, if you're down 1 with under a minute you would foul, if you were down 3 with 31 left you would foul.

You would not wait until you were down 6 and 18 seconds left to play the foul game.

My suggestion though I know it has been stated before, is this needs fixing.

Thing is, if you are down three with more than 30 seconds to play, why would you foul ? The other team will probably get to two possessions game while down three you just need a stop and after that it's up to you.

There was a LONG stretch in that 4th where neither team would score.... (nor call a timeout)...

So I agree, and disagree.... (personally if I were coach), I'd of gone and fouled, due to low FG outputs by both teams, it's more likely to get quick lay-ups, vs hitting a 3 as time winds down while guarded.

But yes, that does make some sense to me.

edit: Also, other team was 4-12 on FT total in game. So it seemed a good idea from a coaching standpoint to make them win it at the line...

i went to the box score on this one to maybe shed some light.

The Team ratings in rebounding were quite different, and i know when teams foul in the last few mins, they put in their best rebounders (or depending on circumstances, best 3 pt shooters).
The fact ur rebounding was so poor against his maybe means ur team wasnt confident of getting the rebound? not sure.

also ur inside scoring was low, so the drive to get quick lay ups may have been off the table.

not sure really, just perhaps trying to look at this situation from a different angle. the game engine probably will take the above items into account when doing its calculation at end of game... but im not sure how.

At 31 seconds, a defense stop plus a made three pointer and the game is tied. If you were down four or more, or the other team could run out the clock, they would have fouled. I do kind of think it would be nice to set parameters for that too, in that I'm not particularly interested in seeing my team down 6 with 15 seconds left keep on fouling to push the margin to more than 10.
