At this point in the NBA season Kevin Durant is the favorite to win the MVP award. he has gone on a 12 game streak scoring 30+ points and the the Thunder went on a 14-2 run. Yet people say he can't defend as he refused to guard leBron when the heat faced the Thunder. What are your thoughts on this. Who do u think should be the MVP?
My opinion is that Durant should win the MVP because we have seen him defend quite well (though not as good as LeBron). he has also stepped and led his team as Russell Westbrook is out. he has managed to win and lead his team to an amazing run with just one allstar. Lebron can fall back on Wade or Bosh if he is having a bad game

He's certainly up there. His defending is suspect at times, and not just against Lebron. Paul George still deserves a mention, even though he's in a bit of a slump lately. He's sort of the inverse of Durant in that he's a step below in offense, but a significantly better defender. I haven't compared useage rates, but I'd guess PG is below Durant, and like Lebron, PG has several players he can fall back on. It's all still definitely up for grabs.

LeBron is the better player, but as of right now, Durant should be the MVP. My third place guy wouldn't be Paul George, it'd be Blake Griffin.
