My big mans have lower than league average ID but high OD 8-12, so it happens i allow the fewest points per posesion in pf c spot in a whole league, roughly good od can drop oponent shooting percentage up to like 10 percent down. When i see in game mid range shot taken of the other team, i am nearly sure it will be a miss:) Its very good especially now with gdp feature because people play more outside tactics and if they have something like 14js 9jr in pf/c spot then u dead. To prove that my sf which i play pf/c because i like small lineup and have 2 beast sf,s shoots 66percent 50 percent threes while leading league in points per 48mins and shpooting percentage(hopefully will be mvp again) with 14js 9jr 12is which is kinda low for my league, the is i mean. And i dont run outside ofenses because my small guys sucks he is unstopable with neutral offenses but imagine 2 beasts at front lineup jacking threes 50 percent... if you dont have good or decent od big man you dead.

It depends on the division, and more importantly, the league. However, since you are in D5, your bigs would probably defend fine with inept or higher OD. If I'm not mistaken, a 7 OD big could probably do a good job defensively against the average D5 big man.

I'm not really trying to give him a primary goal for big men's OD, although I probably should have estimated a bit lower. I agree with the rest of your response, though.

Man You just ruined my day. I have beentrianing shot block and in/outside defense with no immunity on bigs they dont seem to respond. .

i thought guard with Od/inside defense would stop alot of shots and driving.

OD, everywhere, equals defense. ID is needed on big men too, but OD is the most obnoxiously overpowered skill in the game by a wide, wide margin, not to mention that it's disturbingly inexpensive.

As an aside, players who are 28 and older generally don't respond well to training.
