Now that Marin has announced BB is going to have a second team feature, and that it's going to be in a Utopia created in a new 99th Country, I wanted to start a Suggestions/Considerations thread for this new country.

Here are some suggestions/considerations to get us started. Let's start the brainstorming and feedback!

1) All new teams should start in the same division level (ie DV or DIV, depending on the # of teams). Otherwise, if some teams started in DI, others in DII, and others in DIII, the teams that start in the higher division will have a huge advantage over the lower-division teams. I think it's okay that the higher divisions (ie DI, DII, and DIII) all start with 100% bots until teams promote into those divisions.

2) End of Season Promotion - I think at the end of the first season, enough teams should promote to fill the next highest division (ie if everyone starts in DV, the next season, enough teams should promote to fill DIV with human managers, and DI, II, and III would still be 100% bot). It could be fun to see a race to the top over the first few seasons.

3) Draft should work just as in other regular countries. I hope there are players of Utopian nationality to draft.

4) Ability to buy/sell players on the regular Transfer List. Utopian teams wouldn't be restricted from buying/selling players from other countries. Of course, there would need to be the previously discussed (in the 2nd team thread) rules to prevent ever buying/selling players that have ever been owned between your initial team and your second team.

5) No new-manager bonus $50,000 per week in the first weeks for new Utopian teams.

6) Utopia should have a cup tournament just like existing countries cup tournaments.

Other ideas??? One unresolved issue is the time of games during the day.

Oh, I was just trying to help brainstorm ideas for the BBs to consider in their thoughts of how to implement a 99th country. Wasn't trying to step on anyone's toes. And, since the whole 2nd team concept was a grassroots campaign from the users, and not the BBs pushing it, I thought it'd be interesting to see what cool ideas the users came up with.

But, are you saying that you think another announcement from BBs could be imminent? Maybe within a week or two with more details of how this Utopia could work? If so, yeah, more idea-generation could just cloud the issue. But if an announcement is more than a couple of weeks off, I'd still be personally interested to see what ideas the users have. Just my 2c.

Just throwing it there, but maybe have the Utopian games be done seperately? That way the teams who own the 1st team can be able to enjoy their usual Tuesday/Saturday Game (and maybe Thursday)

I don't really have any idea of what days. Wednesday should be 1. The only games that go on are BBB games (not many).

The other game day i think should be Sunday (could mess up maintenance though)

just throwing ideas out.

I was just wondering,
maybe the teams from Utopia should play B3 games with their real country flag? Because if not, it will be like real world teams will compete against The Toon Squad or something. :D

Also, I think it's not a good idea to let citizens of Utopia play in real countries, because it will also make a game a bit confusing. :)

Your thoughts?
