Not sure if this will be popular or not but I will try

Almost every RL tournament I've seen has the teams seeded and the higher seeds play the lower seeds each round. How about we set up the National Tournaments the same way. The National #1 ranked team is plays the lowest ranked team, and so on. If there are bots in the tournament then the bots would be graded as lower seeds than even the worst team in the country, that way the bots get eliminated first. You could proceed each round in your original bracket formation or you could reseed the remaining teams each week. I would like reseeding so if your team is improving in the national ranking you can earn a little better positioning each week you survive.

Check European football (soccer) national cups, you won't find an example for your idea. There are no seedings, but kind of a lottery system.

I never support any idea that would make strong teams even stronger. I think current system is pretty good, letting weaker teams having the chance to go further. Your idea would make things easier for stronger teams and a lot harder for weaker teams.

I like the current system because it is unpredictable.

If you pretty much know your next match up,
if you want to make a run at the cup,
well your new player to buy will have good GS.

the current lottery sytem in national tournaments makes things interesting as the previous posts has shown, like 2 strong teams meeting right in the first round.

but i recommend that cash prizes be awarded also to losing teams if they reach at least the 4th round of the national tournament. heck they beat 3 opponents already and that is a great achievement especially for a division 3 or 4 human team. thus if they reach the 4th round and lose they can still get some consolation cash for their good tournament run

I like the current system because you could be lucky or unlucky.
You can't just predict when you get knocked out.
