Right now if you enter the last quarter ahead, with a huge difference your coach tends to leave the starters at the bench for the whole 12 minutes...

I think it would be nice to add a new option telling your coach to try to win the game by the biggest margin possible. It would be very helpful in the last games of regular season when a team tries to ameliorate its goal-average in order to obtain a better position for the play-offs.

The disadvantages would be: too many minutes played + of getting unecessary injury if you tend to use this option too much.

hopefully the game engine keeps in mind the impact of point differential (though i doubt that it does), but this would only matter for teams right on the bubble and maybe the teams fighting for a better playoff seeding though it doesn't really matter since there are only 4 teams a side. if this was a general option it would just be poor sportsmanship.

it also does matter for national teams.
I remember Greece trying to beat Algeria by 60 or so points in order to qualify and beeing unable to because the bench players played way too much...

Il also has a fun aspect in games involving rivalries: you want to crush your adversary, that's what I wanted tonight, was leading by 30 end of 3rd and finally won by simply 19 because thwe starters stayed at the bench :-(((

I like the idea, and if someone wants to win by 50 instead of 30 and screw their training, so be it.

Do you really want your star out on the court running up the score with players like this (791676) on the other team?

actually the game engine doesn't keep that in mind ;)

I had a race with two other team with pretty similiar points and baskets for the places four to six, at the last game day and my coach sorted out my first team with just +20 after the first quarter to let the backups play.

You can not blame your coach for a choice that is yours. you decided to activate the option "let the coach decide". otherwise if you ask your coach to stricly stick to your choice, even with a big lead your top players will stay on the court.
For me it is a false problem.

my coach didn't do that, even with strictly follow deph chart he will bring the second lineup with a high lead.

And this changng tactic leads to curious decisions, so i making my lineup for the game this evening optimized for a high loss becuase i don't want to risk that my coach takes my trainees out of the game - and in my scrimmage it is the same procedere.
