Can't believe a thread isnt created yet. Only 12 teams left, first games of group stages are over. Even before the games started though, we already had a surprise in Polish NT not making it to the tournament, and Czechs being one shot away from elimination.

The game of the night for me was Czech- France. I honestly was very impressed by France last season and thought they might go for gold. They still can but their road just became bit harder after a loss in first game. What really surprised me is low defensive ratings by both teams. Thats why I want to ask here (as a NT manager myself), is mutual TIE frowned upon? I personaly am not going to resort to such tactics but am just wondering. Of course this is based on assumption that it was a case in this game (I might be wrong), and also just asking about general ethics in BB among NT managers

I doubt that an mTIE is frowned upon, as I have seen our NT coaches use it before. Breaking an mTIE, however, is very frowned upon and makes one less trustworthy for future mTIEs. In the past, I used mTIEs a bit for my club team. Now I don't have the need to use it.

And how do you guys see 2nd games in respective groups playing out? Canada is facing heavily favored Czech team. It will take some research, cunning, and luck to make it into a game but I am hoping for a decent contest here.

Fun fact: all games in group A were decided by exactly 12 points.

Ok guys, since after today's result I am not going to look like a fool anymore, I am going to post it now:

I asm disgusted by the idea of mutual TIE. I have been approached by our last rival with that suggestion. It is a way for both of the teams to gain unfair advantage over rest of the field. If a team wants to risk TIE, then just do it! Don't try to make some sort of a deal that hurts other countries because their opponents gain enthusiasm without taking any risks.

I would love it to change and if the suggestions of mutual TIE were made public so people start frowning upon them and we will all have level field.

But it affects other teams, putting those who don't take part in it/didn't receive such option in unfair disadvantage. Why allow something like that to happen (of course it cant be regulated by BBs but publicly stating who did that and change in mentality of users should slowly make such things dissapear).
I would agree with to each their own argument if that didnt give both involved teams an advantage over others.

Meh, everytime I get an offer of a deal I say that it disgusts me and I refuse to take part in it. Although your way would probably make other managers learn faster :D

Ok, 3rd match ups coming up very soon.
Overmatched again in terms of team quality. Gambling a lot and trying to read French manager's mind.........
Good luck to everyone! I have to admit, not being a favorite and having to take risks, analyze opponents, etc is tons of fun. Should be even better with blank lineup removed.
