the salary cap you suggested puts premium to training which is the beauty of BB

In my utopia league:

Salary floor $75k
My team salary $206k

I make a profit each week, even before cup money. Probably 2*Salary floor is too low.

Its a good idea, maybe a bit too heavy handed?

There are also some problems associated with the effects it would have on the high-end salary players.
That is, less teams in the top leagues will be able to afford multiple high-salary players.

This isnt neccassarily a bad thing at the moment. Running at a small loss with a training exemption i think is a really good thing. Running at a medium loss, not so much. But your idea will really punish those teams wanting to run at a medium loss.

Which will make having higher salary players less appealing, which will in turn reduce their value on the market.

So im not saying ur idea is bad, im just highlighting some of the impacts that it would have on the game, in particular transfer market/player value/etc.

Most top teams in competitive countries buy players around their 23/24

and i thought that most top teams buy players who already have their primaries trained, such that they can train secondaries, because this is easier to train.... but then this does not add that much salary, so the training exception is minimal. they have to do this in order to remain competitive.

I know what ur trying to say, but the reality is different, at least in Australia.

Number 1 team in Australia roster - http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/196370/players.aspx - Mostly older guys ( in fact, only one guy that he appears to be training).

Number 2 - http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/38913/players.aspx - Is actually looking at SELLING his 25 year old trainee's, rest of the guys are old.

Number 3 - older guys, BUT probably does have 1 guy who is 27 who is getting secondaries trained.

So yer, my evidence is based on Australia top leagues (even div II), but I assumed other leagues around the world operate the same, could be wrong, but i doubt it.
