I don't remember where the post was, but I think Nachtmahr (sp?) posted a link to it a few months back. Essentially, patient tended to look at JS + JR + DR I think vs. OD, which explained why an attempt I made with one SG at C didn't work so well with another SG type (lower JR but more JS and a lot more DR) at his normal position.
Inside iso always strikes me as something where you'd pick your best inside player and give him the ball, and then get out of the way and let him try to drive and either dunk or kick it out. The problem for most people is a lot of the high IS players in the game have much lower DR, HA and PA and so they're out on the perimeter, essentially, and aren't close enough to score, can't drive well enough to get there, and can't handle or pass the ball well enough to give someone else a good shot.
