Hello everybody and welcome to Season 30!

The elections

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who voted for me and showed some confidence but I know the lack of candidate made the result. I would like to remind you all that I'm not the best manager around so I'm always open to criticism as long as you tell me what to do better. I'm also open to advices and help if you want invest yourself in the U21 NT.

Season 30

This season, we have a large group of players with some very different profiles which allow us to play different sort of games. While we may not be as talented as last season, I still believe we can do some good results. We will start the season with 3 easy games then play against 2 of the 3 best Asian teams and finish the first round against Taiwan. We should be able to qualify for next round without much troubles and we will see what we can do from then, depending the teams we will face. Below is the schedule of the first round, all games being played in Singapore.

Schedule

2/9/2015 Malaysia vs. U.A.E.
2/16/2015 Việt Nam vs. Malaysia
2/23/2015 Malaysia vs. Hanguk
3/2/2015 Malaysia vs. Australia
3/9/2015 China vs. Malaysia
3/16/2015 Malaysia vs. Taiwan

Advertisement: Christopher Alexius (35709778) is a young 19yo draftee, he is an inside player (2m11) with very interesting outside offensive skills and he has a great 62 TSP to start with. He is for sale at an incredibly low price of $1! Just perfect for whoever is looking for one more inside player to train.

The reason for listing the player here is that he will be a U21 NT player if trained correctly.

Thank you! It was our best offensive performance since season 13 (unless I didn't check carefully enough) but our defense showed how far we are for top teams such as Philippines. We hope not to face Philippines in the next round, China and Australia look less frightning than your team.

The results

After playing the 3 weakest teams of the group, we got 3 wins and we will qualify for next round. We have done what we expected, nothing more. The next 3 games will be very difficult, Australia and China are 2 of the best Asian teams and Taiwan is not far behind. To be honest, it wouldn't be a surprise if we finish this round with a 3-3 record, however, we will try to make a surprise.

The players

As for the players, you may have noticed that the group is quite large, the main reason for that is that many players are quite close, sometimes with different qualities. I have a hard time deciding who to play and who to sit so I consider carefully Game Shape. I can't complain about the players' managers, so far game shapes are quite good and it's always difficult for me to decide who to play. The good point is that there are many players well trained. The bad news is very few of them have a high potential to reinforce the NT in the following years.

The managers

I'm also glad I managed to contact managers of most U21 Malaysia NT players and they all keep in mind the U21 NT when it comes to training. I try never to push them to follow a specific training unless they ask but I sometimes give my opinion on what could be needed for Malaysia U21. So I would like to thank all managers for training their players, either they are in the U21 NT or not.

Next season hopes

I have 2 Malaysian trainees, the 19-year old one has a small chance of making it to the U21 NT next season but looking at the quality of the promising squad, he will probably have to wait after next season. This is good sign for next season, the team being built looks really interesting at the moment and the 8 (!) 20-year old players currently in the team are the early display of it.

Actually, it's a good thing to be with China and Australia during the first stage as it makes us less likely to play them in the next round. Philippines is also one of the top teams in Asia and I wouldn't like to play you in the next group stage.

I just checked how the group were made 2 seasons ago and we had:

Pool D
A1
A4
B2
B3
C1
C4

Pool E
A2
A3
B1
B4
C2
C3

In others words, Pool E is supposedly weaker than Pool D. If standings stay as they are today, we would have:

Pool D
Iran
Nippon
Hong Kong
Indonesia
China
Malaysia

Pool E
Singapore
New Zealand
Philippines
Macau
Australia
Taiwan

Great opportunity for whoever wants to get a talented Malaysian trainee with high potential: Joseph Lusah (34865582) is available at a very reasonable price. He can become a very great SG with a simple and easy to manage training.
