I'm sure this topic has been done before, so I apologize in advance if this has already been debated.

Lately I have wondered why 2 teams in a playoff series have to split the profit 50-50. I think if one team got more wins/higher PD and HCA, they should get more of the profit. However, it wouldn't be too much that the visiting team would miss out. Maybe something like a 55-45 or 60-40 split.

That's a good idea 60-40 spilt to the looser in playoff and or relegation series. I would think the winner should get the majority profit since winning is key that would also take tanking out of the way.

Heading on the right path so far. Are you?

Not really. Some teams that make the playoffs lose money every week or barely get by.

Before it was 66/33. It has been changed recently as to keep the teams motivated to reach the PO and not threw away their season ending.

I remember that. I guess it is fair.

The 2/1 split in the old system was terrible. A team finishing fourth that would normally break even with a normal gate revenue would end up losing money making the playoffs unless they made it to the finals and pushed it to three games (at which point, they'd just break even).
