I think that IF they're going to build the build a new one from scratch, that would be THE possibility to try to develop the app at the same time. In the meantime, I think it's fairly easy to view the games on an iPhone with the Puffin-Browser or something alike and I guess there are a couple of options for "normal" computers/ laptops if you really want to eliminate flash from the system. But for me it's important that if they do something new, they'll do it right (and not something where the old AND the new versions won't work^^)

And I hope - like probably quite a lot of people - that they'll find the resources for the app rather sooner than later

If they rebuild the engine they need to rebuild the databases as well, as they are outdated as hell.

As there are no resources for anything, I guess the chances are slim anything of that will happen.

It's my impression or you miss something?

GE should be indipendent by the viewer.

viewer only translate the "code result", in fact matches are simulated during the 15' before the real time of the match.

So, no need of "thousands of GE code changing".

Probably, also the viewer is thousand of code changing, but i don't think they're similar to GE.

I wrote my own game viewer that works on desktop/mobile, and I can assure you, that you have no idea what you are talking about.

By the way, the html5 viewer was already proposed 5 years ago (and multiple times meantime), maybe in few years we will see one.

Game reports that you get after the game is finished? No.

It's easily possible to create own game viewer in any technology you want, that has all (and even more) features of flash viewer, and yes, that includes live games too. The only thing that this gives advantage over others, is that you have access to play by play (without supporter). You can't cheat it, you don't get more things then flash viewer gives you, and you can't look score far ahead during live game (maybe few possessions only).
