My player just got injured during a game and despite the game is not over I can see that the injury is permanent.

Somebody bid on him before the game, would it be possible to cancel the bids and the sale altogether? I do feel for the guy winning the auction at the moment.

EDIT: I know I could bid on the guy, but I think that would be going too far on my part. I don't think I should be out of pocket for a nice gesture

No, it's not possible. Bidding yourself is an option, of course, but listing players is pretty much irreversable.

the problem is that if I bid myself I will lose money right away AND when I list him again as the injury is reset I will give up another 30%-40% of the sale price. That's too much. If I was the buyer and I bid for the playoff I'd be livid. I know you need to take this into account when bidding (and that's also why I make it so there was a full day left after the game rather than ending the auction during the game), but I think there should be some flexibility...

I know that and it still sucks. I shouldn't really be ask to give up half a million to help him out :( (I'm pretty sure he would ok to cancel the trade).
