I don't think the 1/20th is too steep. I do however think 12 roster spots is far too deep. You don't even need that many players to be competitive in all three games every week. 10 players absorbing 720 minutes (5*48*3) each week is 72 minutes a player which is ideal for gameshape.

Yeah that'd actually be super nice. I'm not insinuating that we do, merely pointing out that 12 players is not necessary for a team to be deep and competitive. 12 players absorbing the 720 minutes available is 60 minutes a week. Admittedly this is probably better for gameshape, but it's not necessary and therefore should not be forced on every team in the BB universe.

If people are going to be charged anyway, they'll staff the extra players. With the extra players they:ll be deeper and more competitive.


Adding 7 7k salary guys would not change a lot for my team, it would be as competitive as it is right now - abuse bots and lose to semi-decent human teams. Plus - where will the hundreds or thousands of ~5-10k salary guys come from? Maybe scrubfarming would become the next big thing...

Well, if sb. forces me to staff X players I will quit the game instaneneously!!!111!

For me a 5-man lineup has been a lot of fun so far, it makes my life much easier and takes a lot of pressure from me - so forcing me to get 7 junk players AND give them minutes would be pretty annoying and I don't see how this would improve the game.

The GS system, rotations, training and realism in general are debateable for sure, but this suggestion is no part of a possible solution I think.

Wouldn't this in effect lower the salary floor? If my salary floor is 200k, each spot will be charged 1/20 (so, 10k). Having 12 10k guys means I will have to pay 120k per week. In comparision, with the salary cap I pay 200k per week.
