Thanks to everyone who voted, even those who voted against me. Even if Olympian hadn't attracted enough votes to force me to consider his plans, I was already impressed enough to plan to go through his plans and "steal" his ideas. I'm sure he won't mind, and in fact he did mention he'd be willing to update Morwood's training thread. (At least that's how I remember it.)

Normally I use this sort of thread to talk mostly about the games but with the u21s its more than just the games that matter, so I'll also be letting people who are interested see what sort of work gets done by u21 coaches and their assistants.

I'd also like to take the opportunity to ask the community to post here too. If there's anything you want to ask, please feel free to do so, whether its about the u21s, the NT, or anything else you'd like to know. And I do mean anything, not just advice, though that will also be freely given. I truly want to help people, especially when it comes to making not so much better players, but more players of quality in general.

For most of this week I'll be scouting players. Because I'll be doing this by calling them up to the squad so I can see their skills I won't be able to ask anyone to help with this. Once I see how many players there are I'll know what sort of help I'm going to need. (The more the merrier.)

If you'd like to help the u21, or even the NT (I know Morwood loves to get people involved) let me know, and also what you'd like to do.

Finally, the other thing I want here is people's opinions, not so much on team matters but especially on training. What sort of players should we be looking to train? How should we do it? There are five position on a BB team but each one can have many different builds? What do you want your PG to look like, both for NT and u21s. The same for every position. Which are the important skills and which don't you want? Let me know. I don't claim to know everything, but I suspect between all of us, we can manage a large pool of knowledge.

Really looking forward to this season. I hope its a good one and that we all enjoy it.

Thanks again,

Gully.

Congratz on your election!

i guess i'll kick this topic off: What are your expectations in this U21 group. what kind of record are you aiming for? (these questions can only be answered once you've got an idea of your roster ofcourse)

Thanks. You're right, I'll have to wait to answer that one, and I'll be doing the 21yos last so it won't be too soon.

Congratulations on your own election. Maybe I shouldn't answer you at all given you're a rival ;)

Lad. If we are rivals, then that means both the English U21 & the Belgian U21 have qualified for the european championship. I have not analyzed your group very well (other than your up against Hungaria and Lithuania which are household names in the U21), but i'm in a group with the Serbian (who were European and World cup semi finalists), with the Polish (who got a whopping 127k C on there roster, and i've heard rumors off his skillset, which quite frankly makes me wanting to just forfeit that game! i will be a stomp!) & i'm with the French U21 (who normally are regulars at european and world championship, but dropped ranked because there U21 manager suddenly didn't log in anymore and went bot...

Anything better than a 4-3 record will be a minor miracle! All the stars will have to align for that to happen, which means the Belgian U21 would scrap out a win against a topflight nation AND we'd have to go through on points (cause there is no way we are beating 2 top flight nations. for that to happen, i need to see there entire squads injured...)

I'm pretty sure Serbia is still hiding some players. And the French might not have a juggernaut C, but there bigs are very well rounded, so i'm expecting them to win (+ French play us last, so we'll be on the receiving end of a CT).

Still, i would love to see the scenario where the Belgian & English U21 meet on neutral ground. It means we've both managed to get to through the european qualifier.

Considering you got Hungaria and Lithuania in your U21 pool,, you'll be facing simular odds to what the belgian team is facing to qualify. Still won't stop us from trying (or dreaming about it), now will it?

Congrats mate on the win. Looking back over this election this should set an example for the future NT/U21 managers thinking about campaigning. With two people not arguing but respecting each other...Class act guys

Congrats on getting elected Gully and well done both for a good campaign.

Not much time for the BB atm and only had a handful of players make the team but think I could give some decent advice to people wanting to train PGs for the u21, so happy to help with that.

Thanks mate.

Don't tell anyone but I haven't had many players make the team either.
