To win in this game you need a balance of everything. Rebounding alone wont win you games if the guys cant score. Rebounding is an important part because it limits the opponent's second chance shots and will get you extra put back opportunities. But you will need a mix of Inside scoring, outside scoring, inside defense, outside defense, ball handling, and passing to be a good team. I suggest you build by training. Find you 3-6 18 year old prospects and get an advanced or better trainer. Pick either Big Men, Guards, or Small Forwards. Then train them in the skills best suited for their positions. So if you train big men first, train Inside Shot, Inside Defense, Rebounding, and Shot Blocking. They will also need to be able to handle the ball. If you are training Guards you will need Outside defense, Jump Shot, Jump Range, Ball Handling, and Passing. Small Forwards are the hardest to train because you are training everything and it is time consuming. Ideally, you can train 3 big men with single position training for 3 or 4 seasons and then train 3 guards for 3 or 4 seasons and by the team your oldest trainee is 26 you will have 6 solid players on your team, trained how you want. You will also be saving money the whole time and will have money saved to fill the holes and depth and work on your arena seating. Hope this helps some.
