best tactics against old, bad forms team

Hello, I am curious what You would offer to me to use against a team, which players are better quality than mine, but they are old, have bad forms and enemy's team bench is short.

The enemy always plays 1v1 defense and has very strong centers/power forwards, but he never plays short-range tactics. My main strength is perimeter players. I was thinking to set fast pace offense and use pressing, what do You think?

Without looking at your roster...

If your strength is perimeter offense and he has good bigs but likes to play BO and 1v1 then:

OPTION 1:

Run and gun
2-3

Pick his focus: Balanced
Pick his pace: Normal

OPTION 2:

PTB
2-3

Pick his focus: Balanced
Pick his pace: Normal



Of course, Option 2 works is only effective if your guards have good JR and your bigs have decent defense

With Option 2 you are relying on your guards to outscore his bigs (hoping his guards aren't great defensively).

Just suggestions. As I said, I haven't looked at your roster or recent games, nor your opponent's games. You would know best whether either of these tactics will be effective.

I'd rather play 3-2 and exploit the opponents weak guards than try to control the inside with my weak 2-3 defense.

The enemy also has great guards, but my guards are better in all perimeter off / def skills. Also, my perimeter defense is much better than inside defense, my c is rebounds based with not very good inside defense. So I think, in my case is better to use 2-3 zone, am I right?

Furthermore, I think to guess my enemy tactic is very risky, he likes to switch between fast and slow tactics. Also, he isn't always playing balanced.

What the others have suggested in regards to going with a 3-2 to maximise your def on their guards which would take more shots if you go with a 2-3...

...but you know your guys and your league best.

As for guessing your opponents tactics...

...it depends on how badly you want the win / whether you need to guess tactics in order to win an unwinnable game etc

Check all of his games (and even games last season) to see if there are any patterns in what tactics he uses. Sometimes a manager is fond of a particular tactic. Also, does he play LI in tough games? In other words, look at the games he has played, the quality of the opponents and what tactics he went for. This may help in 'picking' his tactics.
