Given that each country has its own National Records for Points, Rebounds, Assists and Blocks listed on their country's page, I started to wonder what the BB World Records for each of these categories are. So, I went through each and every country in BB and recorded their best performances, then compared them against each other to finally arrive at BB's World Record Best Performances.

However, I then realised that a player could be listed as holding a country's record (Eg. Points record in USA) but actually be a native from another country (Eg. Australia). So, below you will find the four categories (Points, Rebounds, Assits and Blocks). Each category will have a name (the current BB World Record holder for that category). Next to their name is the country they achieved that record in, represented as 'NR' (National Record). Then the country of their origin is listed last.

I would ask that any new BB World Records that come to light be listed in this thread so that I can record them on this page.

Enjoy.

BB WORLD RECORD PERFORMANCES:

Most POINTS scored in a game:

112 Points
Florante Vergara (Romania NR) from USA. (9210929)

Most REBOUNDS collected in a game:

61 Rebounds
Eugenio Del Zotti (Magyarorszag NR) from Italy. (9369525)

Most ASSISTS in dished off in a game:

44 Assists
Pino Mascetti (Saudi Arabia NR) from Italy. (22681993)

Most BLOCKS achieved in a game:

17 Blocks
Karli Toomsalu (Italy NR) from Eesti. (12130255)
Nikola Perovic (USA NR) from Srbija. (33938749)

NOTE: I think you will agree that these are outstanding performances. I haven't examined any of them closely, but I wonder if any are deserving. That is, did the 17 blocks, for example, come against a quality opponent? It would be interesting to know more about these performances.

UPDATED AS OF 9th JANUARY 2017 (season 37)

I just checked the 112 point effort to discover it happened in a 3OT game! The teams were failry even and, as I expected, the team this player was on went with a Patient offense.

This thread seems very similar to another thread that has a lot of records in it.

Damn. I tried to find that thread too. lol It does need a little updating though...but much more comprehensive.

Cheers, GM-Manon.

Probably best to close this thread.
