What about include draft picks in the asking price of a trade?

When selling a player a user could have the option of demanding draft points according to the player's salary. This draft points would be determined based on the players salary, and ranked accordingly.

To prevent teams from hoarding these points, some limitations would be put in place, like option available 3 or 4 times in a season and receiving a maximum points in a single season anywhere between 10 to 20 points.

Example (salary/draft points):

5,000-19,999 [1pt]
20,000-34,999 [2pts]
35,000-49,999 [3pts]
50,000-74,999 [4pts]
75,000-99,999 [5pts]
100,000-124,999 [6pts]
125,000-149,999 [7pts]
150,000-174,999 [8pts]
175,000-199,999 [9pts]
+200,000 [10pts]

i would only want change this 5-20k zone. So much teams and young teams have a lot of players in this range and 1point is too less. This would make best teams even better, which we dont want to do

It sounds interesting.... but it not help to the new teams. I think that the draft points directly to this kind of users and help them to improve faster.

Maybe using a potential/salary formula...

That's an interesting perspective about potential/salary relation. It would improve the value of young age players under 21 with top potential ratings, and therefore should be created a double entry table that would cross age and potential in one side with salary on the other side.
For instance a 18 year old with MVP potential or higher probably would justify no less than 5 pts in compensation (being the maximum 10 for a trade in this example) and a 35 year old no matter how good salary his being paid would get a lot less in comparisson.
I think this would work way better in the distribution of draft points.
